“Lovely”

Ayhan Hotel

Jul 28, 2008

This Hotel is great, We made great friends with the family that run the hotel and everything bedroom wise was perfect. This is an ideal place to stay as it is only a 2 minute walk to the beach.

The foods great,
The rooms are great,
The staff are great.

what more could you possibly ask for.

The hotel made my holiday

Spent 2 weeks here last year with 3 friends. Family run by Mehmet and his family. Very clean, food good and reasonably priced. Handilly situated about 100 yards from middle of main drag and about 150 yards from Mr Frogs at top end of Bar Street. Pool is only small and only about 4 sunbeds but if you only want a place to sleep close to the action would highly recommend The Ayhan. Most rooms have en suite but there are also communal WC with shower. Full range of activities are bookable through the hotel but, as with most things in Turkey, would recommend you shop around as it may be cheaper elsewhere.

“Loved the Ayhan”

Ayhan Hotel

Aug 29, 2007

I have just returned from the Ayhan yesterday after spending a week there with my partner and five year old daughter. We all found the hotel extremely pleasant and it's true that the family make you feel completely at home and you really do get to see a "real" family run hotel at work and not some faceless resort hotel that you normally find when you go to places such as Turkey. This was our first time here and I would not have any hesitation to stay at this hotel again. The rooms are clean, there are no TVs in the room (which may be good/bad for some - it was good for us!) The only downside was that our shower wasn't working properly (we were in room 9) but we used the shower opposite us so really, nothing to complain about! We ate in their restaurant most nights as it was cheap and all gloriously home cooked. If you want to go out and see the strip and the nightlife that occurs in Gumbet, then you are less than five minutes walk away to do this. There is a very steep hill that takes you to the hotel from the beach, but we managed to navigate another way to get to the hotel without doing this climb! I would suggest that you use the steps that go down in front of the Hotel Kivanc and this will take you straight to the beach/strip etc. The hotel is perfectly located for getting dolmus' around and I would really suggest that you get out of Gumbet and visit some of the local areas in the Peninsula as they are really worth checking out. We/I never experienced any bad feeling from the Ayhan's whilst we there and there were lots of Turkish nationals staying there also who had nothing but good praise for the hotel and the family. The local children are wonderful too as they regularly pop in so you really do feel that you are experiencing a genuine piece of Turkish life. Try also to join the Ayhan's for their weekly BBQ too - it's amazing! This is a really great hotel and if you want to be near the beach and sunbathe and not really try to get out and about, then perhaps try some of the other hotels nearer to the beach but I would definitely come back here again - you can't buy hospitality like this anywhere!!

“You Feel One of the Family”

Ayhan Hotel

Aug 5, 2007

İ am currently staying in the Ayhan and the staff are very very friendly. Tuncay and his brother Ali have worked there for 12 years and are friendly to all.... Tuncay is one of the nicest people you could meet

Most of the guests there are ones who have been coming there for many years. Its a two star hotel and charges approx 6- 10 pounds per person B and B .

Rooms are cleaned frequently and good food in the restaurant. İf you are looking for wild entertainment then true maybe go elsewhere ... all guests İ spoke to liked it. We met some who have been going there for up to 18 years .

Mehmet the owner is a real character and good fun and his wife and daughters also run the hotel

Worst hotel ever! Runied my holiday. I have been to gumbet ten times and have never stayed in such a bad hotel. Staff so unfriendly, and unhelpful!!! Pool the size of a puddle! Seriously do not stay here unless you want your holiday ruined. Staff asked us to be quiet at the pool and it was 11.30 in the morning!! Me and my husband were only laughing! Not shouting, or laughing loudly. It appears that the family who own the hotel live in the rooms surrounding the swimming pool, and made you feel unconfortable, like you shouldnt be at the pool, its their home. Was so dissappointed!
