Darrell n Paula...Lincolnshire.
Normally do Turkey self catering but went for an all inclusive package at the Sunway as it was only about £30 more. As we just got back we thought we would tell you how it is in 2008...hope it is of some help. Typical Turkish Hotel....whatever the * rating...knock off 2. Rooms Basic, air con free and essential in the heat, no balconies, lift doesnt work but only 3 floors ( maybe problem for some), Towels and bedding changed daily, but for less than £300 what do you expect. We went for the Sun and got 7 full days without a cloud and a great tan. The pool is great but the shallow end is 1.8 meters going up to 2.5...not really kid friendly.. they do have a little paddler but right next to the main one and there are no life guards on duty, plenty of beds with cushions and and poolside bar...take some cd's and get the barman to stick them on to break up the local sounds. 2 bars 11:30 till 23:30, but only 1 open at a time (6 o'clock change over) Efes beer only and local spirits (vodka ok). The the food is basic but suprisingly good...but caters for the Turks so dont expect toast and bacon for breakfast and take your own PG Tips and Nescafe. No entertainment but staff are nice and friendly, dont be affraid to ask for anything. Same old Rep....tries to get you on all the trips but everything is cheaper down the road..just say "no thanks" . We had an early morning pick up but had to be out the room by noon...no guest room for showering and changing..had to use a fellow Brits room. Gumbet beach is good..300 m away, shops 100m and "Bar Street" only 500m. We still ate out and spent days at the beach and think we got a good deal on the all inclusive and certainly got our monies worth and used the Hotel for our own needs. Hope this has been useful.
