The Baba hotel is rated 11 but if you look at the other hotels rated above it they have alot lower numbers of people visiting and so their score works out better BUT baba has over 100 near perfect scores so in my personal opinion that makes it the number 2 hotel to stay in at Gumbet.
On with the review now you have my view.
The Baba hotel is situated in the centre of Gumbet right next to bar street and directly on the sandy beach of Gumbet cove.
We had a top floor pool facing room and we had no problems with the noise whatsoever you can hear it slightly but it does not in anyway disturb your sleep.
The beach is just past the pool area and takes about 2 minutes to walk to from the hotel.
The rooms are what you pay for. We paid £300 each for our 2 week holiday bed and breakfast. So the flight works out to about £140 the breakfast would cost about 10 lira a day which is around £4.50 so we had a bloody brilliant deal if you ask me.
I look around very in depth before booking and after going we defo booked the right place.
The baba has a pool party on a thu evening which includes break dancers, bbq, russian revenue and belly dancing. It was fine.
If you book another hotel in the area they have very loud bars and entertainment every night till well gone 11pm so the baba worked out best for that too.
You can walk up the beach and use any of the other hotel pools and facilitys anyway whenever you like free of charge so really it doesnt matter where you book as long as you can sleep in it.
The baba offers a turkish bath which is very nice or you can take a boat trip, play snookers, enjoy a drink at the pool bar or relax for breakfast in the restaurant.
I will say the only ONE PROBLEM with baba is the breakfast it was the same everyday for 2 weeks without any change.
bland frankfurther sausages, runny scrambled egg and beans with toast or strange tasting roll things. Or the turkish breakfast which is like boiled eggs, tomatos, cucumber, black and green olives, honey, butter, choc spread, jams, tea, coffee or orange juice.
It was not good food at all but you can get a full english with all the trimmings for about 4 quid from the hotel which i thought was a bit of a **** take seeing as we paid b&b and got served the rubbish. But hey the holiday was so cheap it didnt matter cause there are many places for breakfast which sell proper english breakfasts for 2 quid ish.
The hotel is VERY clean, the drinks are strong the staff are SUPERB and so I give it top marks regardless of the breakfast.
