been to hotel baba twice now and its brilliant for people of all ages the staff are extremely friendly and i have never known such good service. its a dream holiday and i dont think anybody can fault it. the hotel manager and her husband are very friendly (especially the husband after a few whiskys lol) although the rooms are small they are happy to resolve any problems you have with them and are cleaned every day. i cant wait to go again with my family as i have mad friends with many of the people there. shout to orhan, ismail, charler, mustafa, the receptionist whos name i cant remember but is extremely friendly and my nan sends his son a birthday present every year and every one else whose name i cant remember but mainly the waiters the club runners and the golf bar runners.

“4th visit as good as rest, will probably be back again in 2008...”

Went again last July. I'll get the few minor bad points done with first:
1. Rooms still need refurbing. Clean, comfortable and everything works, but could do with modernisation a little, and a fridge.
2. Hotel still insist on leaving the upstairs open air terrace closed. This provides a cracking view and a cool breeze to eat breakfast/dinner in, but has been closed for 2 years now. Management take note - you need to get this open again. It seems criminal to have it laying dormant.
3. The guys working the bars are not as good as the old lot. regulars will know what I'm on about.

We have been here 4 years in a row, and will probably be there next year, even if we do go to another hotel half way through. As regulars we now get the ground level rooms with verandas which are nice for evenings.
Hotel - is still of a good standard. Food is still very nice, well prepared (it is still the only foreign destination I haven't suffered from gastro problems...) Grounds still impeccibly maintained. Pool still right size and always clean. No problems getting a bed round the pool any time of the day. It really does tick every box.
Gumbet - still spoilt for choice on restaurants and things to do any time of the day. Good fakes to be had if you look about, and good bartering to be done. Loads of good bars and evening entertainment. Within 5 minutes walk you go from teh chaos of bar street to lying on a 6 foot cushion on the beach. Plus you have Bodrum a 60p 10 minute bus away.

To sum up - great country, great town, great people, great value. Enjoy this country before it goes into the EU (even then it will probably still be our annual holiday destination)

Top tip - venture out to Bitez for a day on the beach. Lovely.

Stayed at the baba for the fourth time in as many years and nothing has changed apart from some of the staff!!!

That is no joke, Breakfast is the same as ever.....boring except if you like turkish breakfasts or egg's salami or melon as this is basicly what you get every day...and dont be fooled by their pork sausage as even the local dogs turned their noses up at it.
Room really do need upgrading to bring them into the twentieth centuary...but the hotel is in a lovely location if you like lots of noise at night from the near by disco bars and stairs to get from the pool side to reception seam never ending.
But the staff do their best for you rooms were cleaned every day and bedding every other.
The actual location of the hotel is really great right on the beach front and not to far from gumbet central, If you visit this hotel next year dont miss out on roys boat trip worth every penny if you want a good meal take a wlk along the beach at night and the choice is endless could tell you my favourite but what i like some one else might not but if you stick to the beach you avoid the hassle from the pubs...word of advice do not say you will eat with them another night when you have no in tention of....as they will rmember you and you will get hassled every night till you do eat with them.

But all in all the hotel is very nice apart from the rooms but hey...you only sleep in them and dont let that put you off a lovely hotel all in all and a lovely resort with plenty to offer and despit ewhat some people say the turks are very friendly people who work very very hard for the holiday season probally harder than the average brit works so if you are nice to them they will be nice back.

Oh and my holiday this year was brilliant cause i met Janice battersby from corro at the hotel....well a extremely good look alike
