“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

Great hotel that gives you everything you need, very fit for purpose. Importantly the hotel is very clean and all the staff are helpful. Having spoken to other people on tours it really seems like this is the best hotel in the area.

I would agree, as everyone else has said it’s not really a 5 star and doesn’t have that extra wow factor and there are also down sides to it, such as the food wasn’t great, limited often repetitive selection that was often not that hot. Brilliant views from the rooftop restaurant across the bay though. The al’acarte restaurants were great, definitely worth a visit.

During our first couple of days it was stormy, and the hotel really isn’t set up for this weather, especially with very little inside dinning space. There were also sand bags everywhere, which being a wheelchair user didn’t make it easy. To give the staff and local people of Gumbet credit though they quickly got the resort back to normal afterwards.

The bars were good, great selection and very friendly and mischievous bar staff always up a laugh. The general entertainment was lacking and not really worth bothering with in our experience, though you can always head out of the hotel where there is plenty going on.
The hotel is in an excellent location right on the beach front of Gumbet and within easy access to Bodrum 30 min walk (though it is a big hill) or a quick ride on the bus.

The rooms were nice, nothing special but did the job nicely. I think it depends what room you have, we only had a basic room but were still happy. Our shower did leak and we did talk to reception about it, but in the end decided to stick with the room.

Don’t book your tours through the rep, they will severely rip you off like we were. There is a little tour operator opposite the hotel which offers far better deals.

Overall brilliant staff and location, very clean, a good hotel. Had a great week and would definitely recommend it to others!

Room Tip: Just ask if you are not happy and the staff will do the best to change your room. Heard of several p...

The hotel is in a perfect location directly on the man made beach of Gumbet bay,and within easy reach of Bodrum. It is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful not so the senior management. On arrival we were quickly shown to our standard room. This was tiny, dark and dismal situated in the centre of the hotel. Overhanging plants on the small balcony meant we were inundated with flying insects. We immediately paid to upgrade to a sea view room.
There is no restaurant as such in this hotel. A panoramic open air roof terrace doubles up as the restaurant, bar and entertainment centre. There a few booths inside the terrace near the buffet, where you can sit if you want to eat inside, think canteen and you wont be far off the mark. When the weather is poor this means that the hotel does not have adequate facilities for dining. There are three a la carte restaurants that you can use free of charge under the all inclusive package. These are small and double up as snack bars during the day. Not much thought gone into the a la carte concept.
The food in the hotel would be ok by Turkish standards if it were served hot. Unfortunately the food is cold and unappetising. During the ten days we were there the only hot food we had was when we went into Gumbet to eat. Complaints to the hotel management and tour operator were met with a 'couldn't care less' attitude.
The bars often ran out of beer and spirits and the general feeling amongst guests was that the drinks were watered down.
The entertainment is amateurish and very loud, generally starting at 10pm. Do not go to this hotel if you enjoy peace and quiet, there are no quiet rooms.
The hotel is classified in the UK as 4 star and in Turkey 5 star, more like 3 star. A shame really as it does hold an enviable location.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea view room. The standard rooms are very small and dark. No quiet rooms available.

As we walked through the lobby on arrival i was suitably impressed , until we got to our "superior room"(Fantastic View ) more like budget room , So we walked down to reception to view our thoughts on room , the however showed us a more modern room which seemed lovely until we stepped onto balcony to overlook the back of another hotel and car park , so we opted to stay in our original room.

Bearing in mind this property has about 8 restaurants....the nicest restaurant ( i use this word loosely ) was closed 4 our of 7 nights so we were all forced to dine in one of the others , this said we thought we would have a lot of variety . So Lunch time on day one - Frankfurters in tomato sauce , chicken nuggets , Spaghetti bolognese , salad , bread & bruised fruit , ( may i add this was lunch for rest of the week) dinners we opted out and ate in the town & other neighboring towns.

The Bars were in my mind appalling , the Spirits appeared to be watered down ( being a rum drinker ) i was drinking bacardi( there equivalent ) and all i could taste was Pepsi & even when i asked for a double it still tasted of Pepsi , The Staff served you when they felt like it & it all seemed like too much of a hassle to come to bar and drink.
On some nights the staff were more interested in swapping numbers with good looking girls than serving rest of us. And also pouring them selves drinks.

I found the room only had 3 english channels( i of which had english subtitles)

I honestly thought i paid to come to a foreign speaking england for a Holiday - It was sad to see how the English People have demanded "Heinz Baked beans", Full English Breakfast, Chips with Everything and also Anglicized Turkey & that is only way the Turkish can survive by being "little Britain" `because lets admit it if People came from Turkey to UK , we would definitely Not feed them turkish food now....

I cant see i would go back to Turkey , but at least i can say ive been , Unless im being too Fussy

Just got back from the best weeks Turkish holiday we have ever had. (Weather being the exception). The hotel was all we expected from a 5* Turkish hotel. (3* in England). Bight clean rooms, staff as helpful as can be and more food to choose from than anyone could possibly want. Our 1st time as "All inclusive", so we were surprised to see that the beach bar was open 24 hours a day. (they are usually closed by midnight). Close enough to walk into town, but quiet at night so as not to be disturbed by the late night bars in bar street. Check in was quick and easy, and the bell-boy was falling over himself to help carry bags, cases etc. Would certainly go again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard. They have good soundproofing and good outlook. Make sure you ar...

We are three sisters all pensioners and we have had a fabulous holiday at this hotel.O,ur room was plenty big enough, mini fridge stocked every day, clean bedding and towel change every day.Plenty of choice with the food,. drinks and snacks.Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We would certainly recomend this hotel, and would like to think we could return, but considering the fact that we are also the main carers for our husbands we can dream. oh,how we envy you people who have booked.Enjoy.
The entertainment wasn`t brilliant ,but passable.

Room Tip: Ask for the Nostalgia rooms, very spacious and sunny balcony.

We've stayed there for the last week of september for 7 nights.

Hotel : Arrived late to the hotel (around 22h), check in was fast and the porter showed us to the room (as this resort is massive in size, takes you a day to find your way). The room was great: very spacious room, ground floor, overlooking gardens and a part of the sea. TIP: book a superior room if possible, the extra charge (with my company) wasn't that much and assures you get a nice room. The hotel grounds, pools and rooms are very very clean.

Food & Drinks : One big restaurant and several à la carte. We've eaten at the big restaurant every night (as we didn't bother making reservations). There's a large choice in food buffet. I guess the buffet can get little monotone if you're here for longer than a week. The waiters are by now a bit overworked after the season. So from time to time you have to cater for your own drinks (and cutlery). Bars are good.

Staff: most of them are nice and friendly in general. A small tip goes a long way.

Location : close to the main street of Gumbet with loads of music and bar. If you want to do some nightlife, this is definately the place. Great bus connection to Bodrum centre, takes you in about 10 mins and € 1.5 pp.

Tip : get Turkish Lira instead of Euros/Pounds. It will save you a lot of money as they make strange calculations returning your money.

If we ever go back, we'd definately choose this hotel again !
