My wife and I recently returned from a 2 week stay at the Shark. We've been to Gumbet before; last time was self catering. Thought we'd try all inclusive this time. The Hotel itself is nice and well situated. It's close to all the action etc, but never had a problem with 'Bar street' noise. Beach and Restaurants all within a short walk, so no problems there. The local 'bus service' runs along the bottom of the road, so easy to get to Bodrum etc. The Hotel also provides a free bus to Coconut Beach ( the next bay over from Gumbet Beach ).
The rooms are all well furnished and new. Great sized showers. Rooms cleaned daily.
The Bar was adequate, serving local beer and spirits etc. The 2 main Barmen were freindly and gave good service. All the staff are friendly and hard working and do their best to say hello.
The only let down is the food. Don't get me wrong, it was always very well set out; but i didn't know there was so many ways you could cook and serve up chicken and rice. We didn't starve by any means, but be prepared for a more continetal range of foods; more suited for the mainly German and East European guest they had staying there. cold meats and cheeses for breakfast ( fried eggs were attempted by some cooks on a couple of occasions ).
Having said that, we had a nice stay and would recommend the Hotel; but there is a local Burger King and plenty of good restaurants nearby for when you want a change from Chicken
