“You get what you pay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2011

Watching the comments and the terrible popularity of this hotel worldwide makes me wonder what do people exactly expect when paying the cheapest accommodation in a very expensive touristic center such as Bodrum. This hotel is not the Four Seasons indeed but is not hell too. My personal experience was good and I will be as objective as I can: this hotel has new rooms and we've got one which was very clean and comfortable, it even had a huge balcony with an amazing view of the bay. In my opinion, this hotel shouldn't be considered as ''all inclusive'' since food and drinks were lousy. What else didn't I like? You take shower with sea water. Ah! And expect most of the guests to go bed very drunk since Gumbet is a club spot, but obviously this is not the hotel’s fault or responsibility.
The service was good, there were people helping us with the luggage, we had a decent place to park and there was a guy in reception that even borrowed us his office computer and printer without charging a penny for it.
So, if you want to spend a couple of nights in Gumbet, in a very basic hotel with a short budget this is the place. If you want to have a long luxury vacations then pay more and go somewhere else.

when we first arrived we had to wait about an hour and a bit just for a receptionist to come and put us in a room, our first room was like a box! we had no bedding the toilet was mouldy there was no shower curtain....so we asked to be so we were moved into our second room it wasnt as bad as the last one but was still hideous, the walls were mouldy the water out of the taps and shower tasted like salt there was no shower curtain and the lights didnt work! so we were asked to be moved again baring in mind this was about 3:00am! our 3rd room was just the same nothing worked the toilet was broke wouldnt flush so we asked for it to be fixed, the maintenence man then came and apparently fixed it but acturlly he didnt fix it! it was still broke and did not stop running, me and my daughter could not get to sleep because of the constant sound of the toilet running we made another complaint and we were put in our fourth room, and oh my god it was a tip down below under our balcony there was a dump sight the smell was disgusting! nothing would work the water tasted like sat it was a extremely long walk to get to the restaraunt and to the beach! so we made another complaint they offered to make another room change but we had, had enough of this disgustingly dispicable hotel! we then moved into a hotel called palm gardens....and it was like heavan! my daughter loved it the food was beautifull, oh yeah i forgot to mention the food in club aqua...it was disgusting, is all we had for breakfast was a boiled egg which wasnt even cooked properlly! lunch we had nothing the food was horrible and nothing was cooked properlly same for dinner time..we spoke to allot of the other people staying in the hotel and none of them were happy with it! i advise you to never ever come to this hotel! it is that bad they had no staff! because all the staff were leaving because they werent getting paid.. oh yes, and the pool was like a square it was green and mouldy and tasted like salt and just wasnt clean at all! IT'S HELL!

This hotel doesn't deserve a star rating. The rooms are basic and dirty. Had to complain about dirty stained toilet, mouldy shower area, no shower curtain, red ants in bed. This was 1st morning!!! Things then went from bad to worse. Food mostly inedible, cold, and no choice. After complaint by another guest we were promised an improvement. the following day we had a chicken dish (only meat all week).Things then returned to the same poor menu as previously.Day 3- NO BOTTLED WATER AVAILABLE IN HOTEL,staff unable to say when water would be delivered. Beer ran out day 4, no replacement until evening of day 5 (after many complaints to owner and manager).
Showers are salt water (sure it was pumped from swimming pool !!!!). The pool wasn't cleaned all week. One evening the maintenance man was throwing something into the pool - unmeasured amounts of chlorine.
The hotel is owned by THE FAT CONTROLLER. What a disgracefull excuse of a man. This man thinks paying guests should be seen and not heard.
If you still decide to book this hotel please don't expect to have your room serviced all week, don't expect clean towels, and definitely don't expect another toliet roll (even if you ask). All you can expect is to spend lots of money eating out !
Spend a liitle more and stay next door GRAND NEWPORT.

Having read other reviews of this hotel , i was more than surprised when i actually arrived. Room was basic but clean , only fault was than shower was usually cold.Food was plain but tasty and drinks were fine , using Efes beer and Coca Cola soft drinks , other Turkish hotels use the cheaper brands !! and they even tried to lay on entertainment. Dont go expecting the Ritz , i think hotel is mainly used by Turkish tourists , but at under £10 per night all inclusive , it was value for money. I would ask anybody who wrote a bad review of this hotel , to let me know WHERE they can get a better deal ?? and what do they expect for the price they paid ?
