“THE BIGGEST DUMP OF A HOTEL EVER!! SHOULD NOT BE SOLD TO BRITISH!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2010

Well after a 2 week stay on a all inclusive basis, we ate breakfast 3 times and lunch twice. Ended up at this hotel through no choice of my own but a error from alpharooms. i had read the reviews and did not want to go but no availability at any other hotels in Gumbet for when we departed, so took on board reviews and was hoping it be ok and not that bad.
OH NO THE REVIEWS ON THIS HOTEL MET EVERYTHING THEY SAID, IT IS A DUMP AND SHOULD NOT BE SOLD AS 4* NOT EVEN 1* AND CERTAINLY NOT TO THE BRITISH.
Not going to say anymore but i do emphasise STAY CLEAR OR YOU WILL REGRET!!

We got moved to this hotel from a really awful hotel. Initially thought it was ok because it was much, much better than the first place we arrived at. However, it wasn't.
Not very clean at all. Food awful - pasta and salad. Only saw one piece of chicken with a jacket potato - heaven - when the management of the hotel were there. Otherwise pure rubbish.
All inclusive consisted of soft drinks - when they had them. Ran out of coke and fanta for a while. Lager - very weak and vodka. Not what we would call all inclusive.
Drinks were given in plastic cups but the Turkish people got glass ones. Very rarely washed at all.
Paid for an all inclusive and ate out every day. At first we said we couldn't because of how much the holiday had cost but realised we had to eat.
Found a brilliant place in Gumbet - Sandy's bar and Mistral too - where children ate for free. Really good.
The hotel was run by Goldtrail - so we arrived just as it had gone bust. The weekend before we arrived there was riots when the hotel refused to serve food and drink and requested all holidaymakers to pay for their holiday again. Nightmare.
The hotel turned on the English. Apparently, the management had told the staff not to be pleasant to us.
Because of the situation the food had got considerably worse.
Hardly any English music - even though we constantly asked for it. Children's disco consisted of 4 songs, 2 in Turkish. No entertainment at all.
Tried to stay at the hotel, twice we managed it - on a night but that's all. Full of Turks and these were the most ignorant and rude people we've ever met.
Went to Turkey for first time last year, near Marmaris. This was brilliant and Turkish people were lovely.
Think this was made worse because the Turks were on holiday, rumour had it that the hotel had advertised locally at a cheap rate to fill the hotel. They won't wait and won't queue.
The people selling ice-cream and running the supermarket, also allowed computer access for 5 lira for half hour. The lady was the worst person you could meet. Downright rude and ignorant. Pure nasty.
Swimming pool looked great but had tiles missing around the edges - extremely dangerous. A little girl got her foot trapped in the water filter and had to go to hospital. The filter had no top on it.
All of us were ill. Within first few days got ear and eye infections. All got dodgy stomachs.
We were there for two weeks and met a few English people who all said how bad the hotel was. Two families in particular, kept us sane, otherwise I think we'd have really cracked up. Was made to feel we wasn't welcome and would never go back.

I have stayed at many cheap hotels in my time but this has to be the worst ever.... The first rom we were given did not even have a shower, asked to be moved by te Rep who did absolutely nothing to help..... went to reception and explained and no one spoke any English so asked a Turkish friend to help..... we were moved to another room which had no windows and a balcony that was big enough for a small child to walk up and down on.... so we then again were asked to be moved to another room and it was a lovely room but the Bathroom stank...... after a whole bottle of caustic soda which we brought it still smelt terrible so we kept the door shut and were told by reception it had been like this for a few years??????? the food was terrible only thing that was edible was the salad which we dont mind really but when they ran out of Vodka, Gin and whisky and the only spirit that there was to drink was Raki which was unacceptable.............................. Please trust me do not stay here as I can say I have been going to Bodrum, Gumbet for 10 years plus and you can find cheaper hotels that are much more cleaner than this hotel....

Having visited last year for a week had a great time reccommended to friends and family who went 2 weeks before us this year what a difference a year makes we decided to go for 2 weeks as enjoyed so much last year was a disaster from start to finish never felt so unwelcome the day goldtrail went bust we all got locked in the hotel without food or drink for 2 and half hours if we wanted to go out of the hotel we had to hand our hotel key in and not return to a room there were riots. it was like we were being pushed out as we were not turkish. will not put me off going back to Gumbet as it is a fabolous place just not to this hotel

Honestly have stayed in some bad places before but this has definatley topped the lot!

Food:
If you like to eat salad everyday you are ok! Breakfast very basic - no meat, boiled eggs, salad and bread.
Lunch - salad, soup which was mostly ok, rice, some kind of potato normally mash and some kind of meat.
Tea - salad, soup, bread, a different kind of potato and some other meat and veg.

To be fair the salad was always fresh and have a good selection - i dieted to go on holiday didnt expect to loose weight actually there! There was only 4 hot food trays a night. We did have some chicken one night off a bbq which was outside. My friend i went with is a veggy and none of the food was labelled so she found that it was really limited.

Pools:
Pool area and actually pools were always clean - they are extremely deep tho and do not have a shallow and deep end.

Bar:
1 beer tap for the whole hotels - vodka & gin which both equally tasted like hairspray. We ended up buying vodka everynight and just using the hotels juice and mixers.

Room:

Mould everywhere - hard beds - towels we not changed at all we had to ask everyday and when we received them they were small hand towels and we only had 1 each!

Whilst we were there alot of people has things stolen from there rooms - including a couple that we met who decided to leave some change out to see if any of it went missing which iit did!

I certainly will not be going back and i will tell everyone not too aswell! It needs a lot of work and some friendly staff!

DİSASTER DİSASTER DİSASTER.
NEVER USE THİS HOTEL OR CONSIDER THİS CHAİN EİTHER.
worst accommodation i have ever experienced and photos will be uploaded when i return home. No windows and sliding doors with a curtain as your front door. it feels more like a hospital ward. rooms covered with damp and stunk. no balcony or natural light. changed room 3 times and walked out 1 day later after consistant lies about being moved to a different hotel by the staff. İ have never been to a place where there was a queue at reception with complaints!! ranged from sound of the generator nearby so people couldnt sleep, to toilets and aircon not working, and people with food poisioning. This place is worth a visit for an hour or so if you are in bodrum as an experience no to be missed for all the wrong reasons! the only possible positives are there is beer there is a swimmimg pool and you have a tv in the room! no hot water, no towels, inside or outside rooms, no shampoo , but they do supply toilet paper and an empty soap dish!
you are really better self catering in 1 star apartments if you want cheap. or alternatively if you want to show off your tattoos and get plastered with the other chavs on 99 pounds a week with goldtrail then have fun... you get what you pay for (sewage free of charge)
this hotel seems to be a frequent dumping ground for all overbooked hotels used by tour operaots so its frequently very busy aswell. if you see any fruit or anything resembling meat or chicken at any meal time please take a photo as you guaranteed never to see it again. They had wine which resembled tesco lemonade for white wine and watered down ribena for red wine. İn a word just search reviews and dont make the mistake i did ... i cant believe all the negative reviews and there are some positive ones so for the price you cannot go wrong... well yes you can. you have been warned.
