September was probably the best month to travel in Bodrum, not too hot and the crowd has leaved the town. We stayed at the Atami in the second week of September and everything was perfect. There was a yoga group at the hotel at that time and we had the chance to join the yoga classes. We also had a lovely massage by Ms. Hacer (had the massage twice actually!) and had a few yoga sessions by Ms. Mjaannes after the group has left the hotel. The owners took really good care of us. The young gentleman at the reception was really helpful in arranging trips nearby and also the lovely boat trip. We stayed in a deluxe room; the room was spacious and was very comfortable. The Japanese hostess of the hotel cooked us Japanese food during the day while we enjoyed our day at the jetty; sunbathing, swimming and using the sunfish to visit nearby bays. I couldn't understand the reason why others disliked the hotel. It was the perfect vacation for me and my husband, we really enjoyed our stay at the Atami. We are planning to visit the Atami next year to enjoy more of the Paradise Bay and the accompany of the hotel's owners.

We heard this hotel was a good boutique hotel in Bodrum but the truth is it is a disaster. bad food, bad service... the owners ( also the staff) seem so ragged and dirty that we can not eat at the hotel at all! Also the daughters take every advantage to hit on the guests and get them to bed. So beware if you are going with your boyfriend. I love bodrum but Atami is a disgrace to that beautiful nature.

The location is spectacular, a very quiet bay in Bodrum which is quite rare. Everything else about the place is terrible. The hotel itself looks like a Soviet training facilty, all concrete, many massive unused spaces with very wintery furniture and wall to wall carpeting. Rooms are small and very basic, also wall to wall carpeting.
The website and services offered are at best misleading, at worst fraudulent. No Sushi, no Yoga, no water activities.
Possibly the worst thing about the place is the service. Very amateur, even depressing. There is not enough staff and everyone seems very unhappy to be working at Atami- a real malaise. Aboslutely nothing has been done with love at this place.

The real virtue is the bay, it's really unfortunate because the hotel doesn't come close to doing it justice. Would never stay at this place again.

I'm married to a Turk and have travelled around Turkey every summer for the past 7 years so I know what to expect.

My daughter and I stayed here for three days. The scenery is awe-inspiring--the gorgeous Paradise Bay, the clean and quiet very long dock the runs along the shoreline to give lots of sunbathing space--the open, airy community spaces--the lovely eating area overlooking the pool and sea--all is fulfilling the soul.

The mother, one of the proprietors, was welcoming and charming, and one of the daughters (with the most musical laugh I have ever heard) spent a lot of time giving us information on what to see and do in Istanbul.

It was quiet and relaxng and definitely a treat to go to a place where there were no crowds--none! That was a rare experience and well worth it for us.

The downside is that it is almost impossible to get to this place and after an expensive taxi ride from Bodrum, we were hit with an even greater charge on our taxi ride to the airport of Bodrum (@$80). Factor in your transportation costs when you visit.

“The epitome of tranquility”

Atami Hotel

I stayed at the Atami hotel for 7 nights in early June 2007 and had the most relaxing holiday I've ever had.

I usually go for a more adventurous, cultural trip, but having been unwell recently a bit of indulgent laziness was just what I needed.

The setting of the hotel is utterly amazing...real untouched nature in an area renowned for frantic construction and loud resorts. The bay was beautiful - lovely warm(ish!) crystal clear water with views over the hills and towards other bays. The decking area was perfect to relax on and I didn't miss the lethal combination of sand and suncream!

The gardens around the hotel were beautiful and well-maintained - and you can sit and watch birdlife from your own balcony. Didn't swim in the pool as the sea was so lovely - but it looks perfectly nice.

Stayed in a deluxe room which was way above my budget but well worth it - beautiful, authentic furniture, light and airy.

The service was great - lovely people who really appreciated a bit of respect. The family who run the place were always around and made the place seem more like a home than a hotel.

I'd love to go again.
