“Awful, overpriced hotel with pitiful service but in a great location.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

The hotel is on a beautiful tip of Turbuku with an exellent setting and great deck for swimming or sunbathing. However, we have never experienced such poor housekeeping and miserable service. The rooms are no better than glorified dorm rooms and the housekeeping staff didn't even take care of the basics like replacing toilet paper and leaving clean towels. Trash was left on the property for days while some of the staff sat around and smoke cigarettes. As a final insult, the manager tried to rip us off on our bill. The overall setting is beautiful with a nice pool, great back/deck and a stunning (but overpriced) restaurant. The beach staff is very good but the whole experience was terrible.

Room Tip: I understand that there is a new or newly renovated part of the hotel. Ask for that if you go there.

Rude management but helpful staff. Extortionate prices for the any tours booked through the hotel and for food and drinks - especially at the bayside bar (three times the price of some top London bars in many instances). There is also an apparrent ban on consuming any food or alcohol bought from outside the hotel in any part of the hotel.

If you are injured and being attended to expect to be told to remove yourself from public vıew as happened to one of my party. Extremely loud musıc all afternoon and into the evening- so little chance of an early night or relaxed afternoon.

Room Tip: Choose an alternatıve hotel.

The prices for drinks and food were totally disproportionate to the standard both of the drinks and food themselves and of the hotel generally. To be charged 18 tl for a 330ml can of Efes which cost 2 TL in the shop next door is bordering on an insult. The food on offer was low quality and unauthentic. Who really wants pizza in Turkey?! Not great.

Also, music playing loud and incessantly in all areas of the hotel space. There was no option but to leave if you wanted peace and quiet.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at the Maki Hotel..The rooms were exactly as published in all the photos..The setting was beautiful..An amazing hotel..The staff were very helpfull.. . Every morning you get up refreshed after a good night's sleep, because it is so quiet. Then you enjoy a great breakfast in the beautiful atmosphere This was the third or fourth time I stayed in the Maki Hotel. I will keep coming back, because it such a nice place and the hosts make you feel at home immediately.

A lovely hotel in an area like the St Tropez of Turkey so if you like that kind of thing, a great place, but really loud music from about midday onwards which gets progressively louder and awful service. Breakfast buffet also very weak. Very frustrating as it would only take a few simple tweaks here and there to make a lot better. The Maca Kizi next door much quieter and seemed to have better service.
