We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Sah Hotel in Bitez. The hotel is an oasis within the heart of the town and a real haven if you are looking for peace & quiet. We had a deluxe room which was huge and had a really good sized shower & bathroom. Unfortunately some of the other guests who we got to know were staying in the standard rooms which are very small and they were struggling for space (they couldn't use the mirror at the same time in the bathroom, there was no room to move around the bed) and consequently they either had to upgrade to deluxe rooms or even move to a different hotel altogether. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and very helpful, anything we asked for they did their best to provide. We did hear a rumour that the hotel was going to be managed by a different travel company (we think it was First Choice) and also that children were going to be allowed to stay as of Summer 2008. Personally we don't think the hotel is large enough to allow small people and also the swimming pool is not child friendly. This is something you may want to check before booking if you want to escape the noise of little ones running around!! Bitez itself was extremely quiet but then it was nearing the end of the season. You do feel like you have to run the gauntlet every time you walk along the seafront as the restaurants are very keen to draw you in. We found that the restuarants behind the main street were less pushy and also a lot cheaper. The beach in Bitez could probably be quite busy during peak season and as per other reviews there are just hundreds of beds which gives the appearance of sardines squeezed together so we decided to stay by the pool at the hotel where we would also not feel like we had to have lunch and buy drinks all the time. We don't usually go back to the same place twice (there are just too many places to see in the world!) but we can highly recommend Bitez and the Sah Hotel for all those who have yet to give it a go! Happy Holidays!
