What can I say. Bitez itself is beautiful. The beach is fantastic, the sea so clear and lovely to swim in. The restaurants (especially Vona (nearest to the hotel) are wonderful and the staff and service fantastic along with the food and beverages at very reasonable prices. The Antiki hotel is well placed for all of this and is a leisurely two minute stroll away. Unfortunately i have to agree with other reviews about the state of the hotel food. it was rubbish. To be fair it is an all inclusive so i dont expect the Ritz, but it was the sheer fact that unless you were the first few in the queue for dinner you would have cold food. The chips were cold (i told the chef this and he looked shciked, he ordered fresh chips and guess what?.......they were EVEN COLDER!, the chicken (how this hotel love chicken must have a good deal on with local supplier) cold and sometimes pink. The water in the restaurant seems to be filtered but is not. it is just tap water. and in general the food literally was a pile of crap. My girlfriend and I were both ill. Stomach upsets guaranteed it seems at this place. Had to go to local chemist and get some excellent pills which eased off the pain. We ate out most nights anyway and I would recommend this if affordable as there are so many good turkish restaurants. in the area. Also the hotel music is irritating and too loud, too many kids doing the birdy song and the hokey cokey every night with the rather camp and cringe worthy turkish lad who is the "entertainment". The entire Titanic album is played whilst eating so if you are a fan of Celine Dion or the film then it will be right up your street! It must be said the pool is lovely, incredibly large and blue (most of the time!) and the room despite being basic was cleana nd comfortable. The beer and wine was decent too in the hotel, better than previous all inclusives I have been on. If you want a palace with great food then save your pennies and go to a 5 star somewhere exotic. But if you would like a relaxing reasonably priced hoiday go to Bitez and maybe even stay at the Antik as it is in a great position but just make sure you have money to eat out.
