Stayed May 22 to June 5, arrived middle of the night, staff alert and helpful. Stayed in new apartment at the back, very roomy and basically comfortable. after 4 hours found matress springs uncomfortable and bread knife missing, went to reception, within 10 minutes housekeeper arrived with knife and was followed by man with new matress, excellent response.
Towels changed every day, bedding every 3 to 4 days, but bins emptied and floors swept every day.
I agree that the music can be too loud and seems to be foreign and sometimes just for the staff, but it did stop at midnight. we were lucky as we were away at the back so it was a bit muted, I wouldn't like to be around the pool.
Can't comment on bar staff or prices because we like to go out all the time but used the pool late afternoon on return and enjoyed this, luckily the hotel wasn't full so plenty of room, possibly crowded in high season, it catered well for children.
Attached shop stocked most things and wasn't too expensive
After numerous comments from restaurant doorman we finally succumbed one night, did not find the food or service to be the best.
Hotel literally 2 minutes from beach, just one block back, but the beach would be a disappointment for families as it is manmade, small and covered in sunbeds and other sitting areas 'free' but expected to buy a drink.Sea wonderful and shallow
Restaurants much samey and expensive on beachfront, we found 'BLUE MOON' up the road from Vonas, new and owned and run by english mother and daughter and their turkish partners, food good and not too expensive, staff very friendly.
Bitez was quiet and pleasant, but more expensive resort, better than Gumbet and within reach of other resorts, but you had to go to top of village to main road or back to Bodrum in order to reach other places - probably bst as you can always find aseat as bus leaves form terminus , you coild also go to supermarket tansas just above bus station.
We have spent the last 14 years going to Turkey 11 times to various resorts and gradually but certainly for the last 4 years have found all places becoming too expensive, worse than Spain, and believe they are pricing themselves out of the budget holiday market, which is all the hotels deserve to be fair. We travelled at the end of May during school half term and people were not there, plane at least a third empty. We love the place and the people but we could have gone long haul for the total cost of this holiday and the only excursion we did was boat trip for £10 which still remains best bargain.
