“nice location”

we arrived at the hotel late, and were told we would be put in a room which was temproary for the night because our room would be available after more guests checked out the following day. The room was awful and it was a bit of a chore to have top wait around the following day for our room, but when we got our new room it was great.
We found the food good, and there was enough selection of food to get a good basic meal, although if you want something more special you need to go out, but it was not a problem to us.
We went on plenty of excursions and got ripped off by the thompson rep because they advertise the excursions in £pounds and then convert that at a bad rate to turkish lire, and hen you get home they have charged youo the inflated price in £pounds anyway so i would suggest you do the conversions yourself and pay in turkish lire directly to save yourself £30-40 per person.

If you go on the excursion they will make you a packed breakfast, don't be expecting anything as it is a mouldy apple and a stale cob, make your own arrangements as you will pay over the odds at the stop off points.

The hotel location is great and we would go back, but would insist that we were put in a good room from the start

we have recently come back from a 2 week stay at ambrosia hotel. although we stayed in gumbet a few years ago. we found the beach at bitez just wonderful, and decided to make it our home for 2 weeks this year.
our stay at ambrosia turned out to be fine. yes i do agree with othere reviews about bed linen not being changed everyday, but all in all everything was ok. food at the hotel was good. we went half board. we enjoyed the omlettes and rolls with jam and the evening meal always had a different choice each day. infact by the end of the holiday we had all put weight on so things cant have been that bad can they.
the staff were all very pleasant . we had no need to complain about anything. ok yes it was a bit of a problem asking the maids when you needed extra loo roll lol.. they didnt speak a lot of english. but as on other holidays we have been on, you have to remember we were in a different country and thats all the fun trying to decipher what you actually want to the maids.
it was very hot while we were out there getting up to 50c and the coolest being about 46c most days. it was so hot even the turks were complaining.
as we had been to bitez before, we enjoyed going back to the sultan restaurant once again. there we saw old friends and new. hi to ibo, tommy, and jesus who all made us feel really welcome.
oh must not forget before i go. only big probelm at ambrosia was the price of drinks at bar of hotel. the were very expensive. we took to just having btl water with our meal at night and then afterwards goin to the nearby bars. i feel if there is any major fault with the hotel they should reduce their prices for drinks and try and match the local bars.
my husband and i are considering goin back to ambrosia next year. so things cant have been that bad can they.

The location of this hotel is perfect and Bitez is great, but the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. I have stayed in better 2* hotels & if this hotel was classed as a 2* I would have no complaints. The bathroom towels were grey & full of holes. We had a bath mat when we arrived, it was taken away the next day & never replaced. The bed linen & towels were not changed in the week we were there. You do not have a sheet to cover you, just a woven throw. The ashtray was not emptied, the glasses were never cleaned. The breakfast was ok, but the evening meal was not great. My son & his girlfriend came with us & only ate in the hotel once. There is no choice for vegetarians.
They say that they provide beach/pool towels, but these are only available if you get them before 12:00 because then they run out. Having said that these towels are in better condition the the bathroom towels! Make sure you take your own beach towels as we ended up having to buy some. The hotel staff were generally friendly, but sometimes they just totally ignored you and wouldn't bother to serve you.

We have just returned from a a short week away to Bitez on the Turkish Aegean coast. I researched the area and it was described as a quiet location. I then researched the hotels and after reading fellow travellers reviews chose Otel Ambrosia. It is classed as 4 Star and I would agree although the rooms were a little jaded and in need of a little maintenance, but nothing we couldn't cope with (our wardrobe door came off its slide if moved too quickly).

The situation of the hotel is fantastic right on the beach - just lawned area separating the hotel pool and restaurant (outside) from the sand of the beach, It is at the end of the promenade which follows the beach round the bay.

The staff were very friendly and as this was the first time we had experienced a Turkey holiday we were very pleased. We felt that we could trust them utterly.

The cleanliness of the hotel was superb, the rooms cleaned daily, the common areas were never littered and the beach too was cleaned daily. The pool was fresh water with a filtration system that kept it clean without having to use strong chemicals.

We were on a half board based holiday and were extremely happy with the standard of the food. Breakfast was eaten on the beach level terrace although in cooler months the restaurant moves indoors. There was a great deal of choice at breakfast with the chefs cooking eggs in any fashion you wanted. Breads, cheeses, fruits, cereals and juices were in abundance whilst the waiting staff filled your coffee cup as often as you wanted them to.

Evening meal was served in the same area at 8pm each evening. The wide selection of Mezzes was always difficult to work through. The hot food was different everyday but there was alaways 3 meat dishes as well as vegetarian options. Desserts were Turkish in origin and perhaps a little sweet for our tastes but we sampled several during our stay.

I admit the bar is a little on the steep side but a very short stroll along the promenande brings you to sveral bars offering food and drinks on the beach.

I undaoubtably recommend this hotel to all ages, as we met families young couples and older people during our stay and nobody seemed unhappy with their holiday. Our only problem was that we had only booked a week.

We will be back soon.

We have just returned from a week in Bitez staying in the Ambrosia hotel.Although we had half board the food was not to our liking so we only ate breakfast there which was only ok.The only other fault was the bed linen, there was no sheet just a rough throw but when I asked the next day for a sheet and extra pillows I got them immediately. The room was cleaned every day,the pool area was beautiful and the hotel is right on the beach. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would return to the Ambrosia.
