We have just returned from a a short week away to Bitez on the Turkish Aegean coast. I researched the area and it was described as a quiet location. I then researched the hotels and after reading fellow travellers reviews chose Otel Ambrosia. It is classed as 4 Star and I would agree although the rooms were a little jaded and in need of a little maintenance, but nothing we couldn't cope with (our wardrobe door came off its slide if moved too quickly).

The situation of the hotel is fantastic right on the beach - just lawned area separating the hotel pool and restaurant (outside) from the sand of the beach, It is at the end of the promenade which follows the beach round the bay.

The staff were very friendly and as this was the first time we had experienced a Turkey holiday we were very pleased. We felt that we could trust them utterly.

The cleanliness of the hotel was superb, the rooms cleaned daily, the common areas were never littered and the beach too was cleaned daily. The pool was fresh water with a filtration system that kept it clean without having to use strong chemicals.

We were on a half board based holiday and were extremely happy with the standard of the food. Breakfast was eaten on the beach level terrace although in cooler months the restaurant moves indoors. There was a great deal of choice at breakfast with the chefs cooking eggs in any fashion you wanted. Breads, cheeses, fruits, cereals and juices were in abundance whilst the waiting staff filled your coffee cup as often as you wanted them to.

Evening meal was served in the same area at 8pm each evening. The wide selection of Mezzes was always difficult to work through. The hot food was different everyday but there was alaways 3 meat dishes as well as vegetarian options. Desserts were Turkish in origin and perhaps a little sweet for our tastes but we sampled several during our stay.

I admit the bar is a little on the steep side but a very short stroll along the promenande brings you to sveral bars offering food and drinks on the beach.

I undaoubtably recommend this hotel to all ages, as we met families young couples and older people during our stay and nobody seemed unhappy with their holiday. Our only problem was that we had only booked a week.

We will be back soon.

We have just returned from a week in Bitez staying in the Ambrosia hotel.Although we had half board the food was not to our liking so we only ate breakfast there which was only ok.The only other fault was the bed linen, there was no sheet just a rough throw but when I asked the next day for a sheet and extra pillows I got them immediately. The room was cleaned every day,the pool area was beautiful and the hotel is right on the beach. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would return to the Ambrosia.

My boyfriend and i have just returned from a weeks stay at hotel ambrosia in Bitez. we had a fantasic holiday. The hotel is in a great location right on the beach, the pool area is lovely and one of the only hotels i have ever been to in which there is not a fight for sun loungers in the morning, the majority of guests go to the beach so there was no need to get up early to put a towel down!
we stayed in a double room with a pool view which was great, the rooms are clean with maid service daily.
The balcony is tiny with two chairs but no table. on the whole the hotel is good but their was a few smal complaints, we were given sheets that were marked and had cigarette burns in them, we had to ask repeatedly for a spare pillow as their was only one each provided. the drinks are really expensive at the hotel bar, its worth just walking futher down the beachfront to other bars for a better deal. We booked half board however only ate breakfast at the hotel becasue we enjoyed trying the wide range of restaurants availaible on the beachfront, breakfast was very basic, catering mainly for the many germans staying at the hotel!!! we heard from other guests that the evening meals were nothing to shout about either!
Overall we enjoyed our stay, it's probably the best hotel available in Bitez however we hear there is a five star being built further along the bay, worth checking out if you are thinking of going!

ambrosia hotel in good location but no way a 4star hotel food okay if you like chips and chicken done in a stew or in breadcrumbs if you did not like that or salad then you ate out as we did on nunerous occasions thus adding to the cost of the holiday over 14days The hotel hosts lots of venues weddings etc while we were there they had five venues which caused lots of noise putting out tables onto the lawned area and bringing them back into the hotel via two flights of steps at 2 30 in the morning Drinks in the bar very expensive 5lira for a small beer do not sell large ones Staff very good worked very hard to please If you want a good restaurant try the Blue Moon food brilliant t This was our ninth time to turkey and we have returned to some hotels but we wll not be returning to the Ambrosia
