“Had a breakfast here, deeply average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2011

We dipped in here one day for a full English and were disappointed even given that it was about 7or8 YTL.
Service was slow and the breakfast was average at best, a poor cut of fatty tasteless bacon, poor quality sausage and a small overall portion. It also seemed a hash of reheated bits and freshly cooked bits.
Main menu looked neither appetising or especially cheap. Didn't bother to eat here again as a result.

“First class restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

On the boulevard of Bitez you find Golden Spoon, a first class restaurant, with a splended kitchen. The card shows not only Turkish food, but also Chinese, Mexican, Italian and even Indonesian specialities. This restaurant - with a good atmosphere and a nice staff - has a Turkish and a Dutch owner. So, if you are lucky you can order in 'het hollands'...

“Don't waste your money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

We are still on holiday here and went last night so this review is as fresh as it gets. The restaurant offers mediteranean and chinese food which is fair enough because they do have a chinese chef, however he wouldnt get a job in our local takeaway back home. The food is some of the most expensive along the seafront but turned out to be our worst meal of the holiday. Our daughter who is eight, ordered the chicken Nuggets from the kids menu. I think they must have bought them from the cheap section at Iceland as they were awful. Most of the restaurants here seem to cook sections of chicken breast which they bread themselves when she orders chicken nuggets, but not at the Golden Spoon. When i complained that they were awful, the manager checked to see if they were cooked right and i explained that it wasn't the way they were cooked, simply that they were cheap and nasty. He was sorry that we didn't like them and offered here some free melon which we didn't take him up on. We asked for the bill and were dissapointed to see that they were still charged for despite the fact that to have offered not to charge for them would have seemed the most sensible customer relations opportunity. They only cost 6.5 lira so he wouldn't have lost a lot, especially as the whole thing come to 98.5 lira (about £40) which is easily the most we have spent at any of the restaurants here in Bitez. If you are looking for a good restaurant, go to Lavas as it is sensational and better priced. I will be putting up a review of that seperately.

“Excellent - couldn't fault it!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2010

Just been to Bitez and have to say I am very surprised at some of the comments here - so obviously just goes to show how much difference there is in people's preferences. We ate here 8 nights out of the 14 we stayed in Bitez - and the nights we didn't eat here we wish we had. Breakfast is quite reasonable at about £5 for full English including tea and coffee (and they top up at no extra cost) followed by toast with either honey or jam. Lunches were a little bit more expensive than a couple of the other restaurants (only by about 50p to a £1 though). Staff were absolutely amazing, I couldn't fault the service. Anton, Josh and Thomas went out of their way to make sure we had every thing we needed. There were 7 of us in total - 4 adults, 1 teen and 2 kids) and the most we ever spent for all of us was just short of £100 and we really went to town that night - 3 courses, 4 bottles of wine, tea, coffee and they gave us 2 bottles of wine to take home with us - otherwise average price for all of us was between £40 to £70. Didn't have one bad meal here and I have no bad comments whatsoever to say about Golden Spoon. So I would suggest go and have at least one meal here and make your own mind up - we weren't disappointed once!

“Over priced Turkish Impression of Full English !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2010

Spent 20 Lira on full English for two and found the standard of the food very poor for the price . Too be fair all the restaurants offer a pale imitation of an English Breakfast so best just eating at the one with lowest price .
Although once had eaten here was not hassled to buy anything whilst I was using their sunbeds . I noticed in restaurants either side people were being hassled to buy drinks whilst eating .
Found the full English at the Blue Moon or New Peking far superiour for only 5 lira each .
I would recommend just buying drinks if you feel obliged to purchase something to justify using beach .
PS The coffee here was truly awful .
