Spent a week at Basri recently, and it is a fantastic place. The apartments have a double bedroom (2 singles pushed together) plus a big lounge / dining / kitchen area, small private balcony and bathroom (shower was ok).

The pool and bar were great for during the day, and although we didn't eat at the restaurant during the evening it always seemed pretty busy even at the end of the season.

Very close to the beach where all the main restaurants are (all of them offer 15-20% discount on your meal just to entice you to eat there) and the food at each one we tried was lovely.

I especially liked the decking areas on the beach, drinking cocktails and watching the sunset from your cushions / hammock / swinging settee all very romantic!

Bitez is a quiet place great for a week away from everything, most suitable for couples. Nearby Gumbet is better for group holidays I'd say.

The Basrı Apartments are clean and tıdy wıth helpful and carıng staff. they offer a wıde varıety of tradıtıonal turkısh food and ınternatıonal cuısıne to cater for all. the food ıs lovely very bıg portıons and good value for money. the apartments have a shop/market that provıdes ıtems necessary for stay and very cheap compared to rest of Bıtez so a day at the beach stock up here before you go!!! The bar ıs cheap and agaın run by fun and carıng staff Nurı the manager and Erıc who consently try to keep everyone happy!!
Nurı offres currency changıng whıch ıs often much better than the rate gıven at home and does not charge a comıssıon. He also offers aırport transfers 60pounds return whıch ıs dırect to your apartment ıt ıs quıck and easy and far better than travel agent transfers. the transfer tıme ıs 30mıns.

We stayed at the Basri at the end of July and were very pleased with the welcome we received. It felt like we were returning to see old friends. Quite a few of the guests seemed to be frequent visitors which was reassuring.

Our apartment was a good size and had everything you could want,especially the air conditioning which is a must in that heat! It was worth paying the £3.00 per day extra. We were glad to be able to leave the windows open during the day to catch any draught -minus the bugs due to the mozzy screens on the frames. A real bonus. The floor was washed daily but the beds and towels were only changed if you asked the maid to do this. But with a smile and a "thank you" this was all done for us immediately.

The food was really super and as already mentioned by another guest very good value. The chef was very keen to make anything you didn't see on the menu if he had the ingredients. We felt guilty trying out the restaurants elsewhere as Eric and Nuri etc made you feel so much at home. Drinks were so much cheaper than in the resort proper. A glass of wine was 3.50 lira as opposed to 7.00 lira down by the beach. Beer too was very much less.

Safety deposit boxes are in the reception area and cost £10 per week. Well worth the money for peace of mind. Reception is open 24 hours and you often find a body snoozing on the sofa if you go in there early on!

It is advisable to book trips down by the beach, Alina is one of the companies who offer better prices and reliable transport. Unfortunately we booked some through our rep and they were double what we could have paid if we had done our own thing. They all go to the same places and offer the same trips you would get from tour operators anyway! Kos day trip is a must, so is the market in Turgetreis.

We would definitely go back again and have recommended Basri to friends and relations.

We have just returned from bitez and thought I would post some information on Basri Apartments as I could not find any before we left.
The apartments are good. basic but everything you need is there, including a kettle, which is the only cooking facility we used. The apartments were cleaned daily. towels were change every 2 days. The beds were comfortable with mosquito screens on bedroom window.
Nuri the owner(manager) is a great host. As in most places in Turkey the people are very friendly and helpfull.Enjoyed the Tutkish night the belly dancing was great fun.
The food at Basri is good and cheaper than some places we ate.I would reccomend the Chicken Fajitas.Not sure why mexican food is so popular in this area of Turkey, a lot of the restaurants had mexican food on their menus. The beer at Basri was also cheaper than most places. 3 lira for a large Efes thats £1.20 pretty good value. If you have not tried the Esfes dark beer give it a try it's a bit stronger I think 6.4% but very good.
Enjoyed Bitez It is a small quiet resort but close to both Bodrum and Gumbet if you wanted nightlife which we didn't. We did a day trip to Ephesus which was a long day but so worth it if history is your thing. The castle at Bodrum is also worth seeing. The shopping in Bodrum is quite good too.
We had a great time in Bitez and would not hesitate to reccomend the Basri Apartments. They have their own website you will find it if you google basri Apartments Bitez. Nuri also has an airport pick up service which if I was returning would use.
We used Resort Hoppa which was pretty dreadfull and would not use again. You have to hang around the airport on arrival for every one else then it is just as bad, if not worse than a tour company coach as you stop at various resorts to drop of people. Our transfer took 2 hours to cover around 30 kilometres.The driver had no local knowledge and need to stop and ask directions to everty hotel. it was the same on return journey.
