“Not a 5* but a good 4*”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We arrived around 11pm checked in and was promptly taken to our room on 5th floor, having read many of the reviews before booking decided to pay extra for a sea room view, before letting the bell boy go opened curtains to find we were not on the front of the hotel but further back could just see the sea between two buildings, I expressed my disappointment and was told to go to reception in the morning to see if a sea room view was available!! went to reception as instructed but was told there was no sea room view available at the moment but they would keep us in mind when one became available, I found the reception staff very unhelpful quite rude and sadly lacking in customer service, MANAGEMENT please take note I'm not the only customer who has made this observation, re-train them in customer service with a smile please. We wiated a further two days before a sea room view became available quite annoying as we were living out of our suite cases, we were offered a room on the 7th floor which looked out onto the solar panels but the view past that was magnificent really pleased I stuck it out well worth it. I have to mention that the restaurant and bar staff were excellent, Linda behind the pool bar is absolutely brilliant great customer service and extremely friendly :) Food was good you would never go hungry, entertainment in the evenings wasn't bad in fact some of the groups were rather good. Free beach towels given out each morning didn't use the hotel pool preferred to go to the hotel beach which was sandy cleaned every morning, there was a beach bar where you could get hot and cold drinks as well as wine beer etc, 3pm guy came down with water melon which was lovely. Rooms a little on the small side with a tiny bathroom but all in good working order air conditioning ok not as good as some have described wonder if that was because we were on the top floor who knows!! tiny balcony with two chairs but the view was wonderful both day and night. Bodrum is the most expensive place I have stayed in Turkey but it was lovely and I would definitely go back. :)

Room Tip: I would definitely recommend paying the extra for a sea room view, WARNING make sure it is a sea roo...

Stayed during Easter holidays 2012.
Was a little our of season and quiet, but suited fine.
Stayed as a couple all inclusive. All inclusive included bottled water rather than water tower. Also included, as well as alcoholic drinks, slush puppies!
Staff were extremely helpful and cheerful. Outdoor pool was very cold (April).
Hotel is clean and rooms cleaned regurlarly to an ok standard.
Food was good, plenty of variety. I think any longer than a week could lead to dull choices.
There seemed to be BBQ available too, bu (again) it wasn't available (maybe out of season).
The problem we had was that the corridors do not have carpets and when peopl are returning from their night outs you can hear high heels and shoes stamping along the corridors quite loudly!
We also had a small problem with work being completed in the next door room / suite and the workmen seemed to have left lots of mess in the corridor just outside our room. But I suppose this could be because it was a little out of season.

Room Tip: We paid extra for a sea view room and you had to balance around the corner of the wall to see it fro...

Great terraces and view for sunbathing in day and lounging in evening, (although you do get asked to move before the sun goes down to set up for the evening!). Beware of splinters from the decking.

Good but loud music dominating pool bar area which you can escape by choosing a terrace (CD for sale behind bar).

Service absolutely dreadful. Ignored at bars. Staff not courteous. No smiles. Staff mobile phones should be barred by management during service. One exception which was Seamus (sp?) in restaurant.

Food poor. We are not fussy but hot dishes generally stodgy and tasteless. Chefs appear disinterested and really unhappy. You can create a good salad but that's about it. We ended up eating out most evenings.

A la carte permitted once per week. We saved this treat until our last night but didn't open as not enough bookings!

Room small for three people and bathroom tiny. However both were kept clean throughout.

If the service and food quality were sorted this would indeed be a diamond in Bodrum!

Day one was a bad day as we just can from the Crowne Plaza in Izmir and that was a 5 star hotel so we were a little disappointed. But as the days drew on we came to enjoy it as the food is actually good and the entertainment is entertaining to say the least. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed the views and all that Bodrum had to offer.

A lot of reviews grumbled about the hotel not being a 5 star - it is! It is a fantastic hotel. All hotels are different and have different pros and cons. With this hotel, i didnt feel there were any. The only problem we had was with the other guests who did not know how to queue (althought Brits are the only ones who queue well) and laid their towels down at 2 in the morning to secure their beds!

Reception: On arrival - bell boy waiting for our coach and then he took our cases to the room promptly.

Room:
To upgrade to a sea view is pricey so we didnt go with this, there are views from all the levels at the bars/ pool to get some great photos so i wouldnt bother - plus we were not in our room much apart from sleeping and getting ready.
Air con was nice and cool. Dont use the items out the mini bar without checking the prices first - these are extra. Not worth having the water - get your own from the bar! I moved all the stuff from the mini bar to the top shelf and then put all my drinks in the bottom to keep them cool.

You get beach towels too and can change them daily.
the beach is shingle but dont be put off it is still a nice beach :) the sun loungers get full quick but if you get down there between 10 - 10.30 you'll be fine (we went peak season - July)
There is a bar on the beach which gives you all the water, soft drinks wine spirits etc and is great having it there for free.

the restaurant:
is fantastic and the waiters/ waitresses are wonderful. Make sure you say hello to Sabre, he is so friendly and always looked after us. They bring drinks to the table while you eat which is nice.
In the morning they cook omelettes outside by the pool which is gorgeous, with a nice choice of fillings. There is a sandwich toaster too which is great. They dont do sausages like the Brits know them only the spicy sort which i dont like for breakfast but its because it is a muslim country and it is expensive to import the pork. The bars on the strip do sell them and bacon but it works out expensive. Cereal, all sorts of breads, salad, fruit and pastries (sweet and savoury) are also available.
lunch and evening meals are great too, so much choice and very hot meals. They cook outside every night too with alot more choice to inside. The snack bar in the a la carte restaurant is nice because if we were not about for lunch we could go here between 3.30 - 5 for pizza (better than dominoes) and burgers, chips, salad, fruit.
Drinks: If you like ammaretto and coke then you'll love the drinks! I drank alot of white rum (same as bacardi), lime and lemonade. They do everything to drink but it is the copies. Linda the bar maid is WONDERFUL and can speak perfect english. In fact she speaks 5 languages. She is very friendly and will be a friend we will keep in touch with.
We found bodrum as a resort more expensive compared to marmaris, but then we cant keep going back there (after being 3 times).
we would go back to bodrum but want to see more of turkey first. Would definatly visit the diamond again in the future.
tip: if you want a turkish bath/ peel/ scrub the hotel one is nice but expensive compared to ones outside the hotel.

Just returned from a weeks holiday here and it was fab! Paid extra for a sea view which is highly recommended. A good variety of food, catering for all tastes. Good customer service from all staff. Room cleaned every day with fresh towels, also clean beach towels available every day. Indoor pool & spa area very clean (pay for certain treatments) Plenty of sun loungers, didn't have to fight or put towels out early. Good location (15 min walk into town) right on beach front, 40 min drive from airport. Will definitely return

Room Tip: Pay extra for guaranteed sea view
