“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We ended up here with the 2 friends we went with and came back with many more. We had been to Marmaris twice and that was great but here was Fantastic, from the first moment we booked in to the sad day when we left. Situated on a hill the rooms either faced the bay or had there own garden in front of them, we were in 208 and totally enjoyed the views, both during the day and night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and any other meals you could fit in were great, a choice of something for every diet big or small any problems just ask a CHEF, yes every one seemed to be a chef and working out just who was in-charge got to be good fun, a great bunch though only task was to ensure we had a great time and wanted for nothing, whilst the cleaners kept the resort immaculate and the rooms in a better state than we did. This year was special as we celebrated our 30th anniversary and our friends their 25th so we chose to book the al a carte fish restaurant and very glad we did ,we had a fantastic meal and service from everyone involved from the booking to finishing off the last drop of brandy(even if I did have to explain to the wife how the events were organised).I could go on for days (yes all 10 ) as it will remain as one of the best holidays we have had from seeing the photo in the brochure, checking on line with the reviews and admiring the rather accurate photographs on web pages and advisor's to arriving back rather depressed at leaving. Would we go back again? what do you think!
THANK YOU SALMAKIS for a great 2013 vacation . Steve & Ange.

Room Tip: 208,neither up nor down just right if worse for wear at night and for a fantastic view

I would say that the best thing about this hotel is the location and the facilities. The food is really horrible. The staff is not that helpful and are kind of snobbish. The spa is really nice and luxurious especially the Turkish bath is a must there.

Room Tip: It's better to get a room with a sea view.

Salmakis is a beautiful place, no matter were you look. I have just come back from a weeks stay and although we had a couple of rainy days the staff went completely out of there way to accommodate us. Each and every one of the staff were amazing wouldn't even let you carry a drink to your table! Rooms were spotless as well as the whole place. 100% recommend. Also for a change of scenery the water taxi to bodrum is nice and for eating out (not that you need to) the Parot Bar in gumbet also serves amazing food. All round fantastic place.

from the minute we arrived we were impressed by both the hotel and the staff.
Myself and my partner traveled with our 5 children and had booked 3 rooms. Each of the rooms were spotless and had everything we needed for our stay.

Although the resort is big, it did not feel like one of those large anonymous hotels with hundreds of rooms all jammed in together. There were lovely walkways and gardens in amongst the rooms and every where was well attended to and clean.

There was a large pool with bridges and a Hacienda type hut in the middle, Plenty of room for everyone and nobody having to fight for pool side beds. There was also a grassy area with more sun beds and a private beach less than a 100 metres from the pool.

I also have to mention how fantastic the food was, something for everyone and as much as you wanted all day if you are all inclusive as we were. The drink and cocktails included were also great.

the Salmakis staff also deserve a special mention, they could not be more helpful and attentive without being overwhelming. The waiter that looked after us during our stay, Erkan, was particularly fantastic. He had everyones favourite drink waiting for us before we even got to the table!!

The spa facilities were also extremely good, my partner got both a massage and a shave.

I would definitely advise anyone to visit this resort. We would all love to go back.

We stayed here for ten nights in September on an all inclusive break which we booked with Monarch/Cosmos. Our room was very good with bathroom, with complimentary toiletries, bedroom with a generous comfy bed and pillows, separate living room with an extra single bed and comfy chairs and a balcony. There was a tv but the only English channel seemed to be the BBC world news. There were no tea making facilities, which you don't often get in Turkish hotels. There was a fridge with Mini bar but only the water was free, a safe provided in the room was free of charge and there was very good air conditioning in the bedroom and living area. We didn't use the spa but if you are departing late on your last day you can leave your suitcases in reception and use the spa facilities to shower and change.
There are many steps and levels in the hotel. If you are located at the top of the hotel don't forget anything if you go to the beach it will take an age to go back to your room. There are numerous lifts in the hotel but the floor that we were on, room 613, had steps that seemed could not be avoided.
The food at the hotel was great. A special mention for the beach bar where the food was good and less formal dining than the main restaurant. We went to the beach everyday, towels are provided, rather than the pool. We are not early risers and were able to get a sunbed ok but the sea was a bit chilly unlike Side were the water is warm. There is a water taxi available from the hotel that takes you into Bodrum. It runs from 8am until midnight and costs 6 t lire each way and runs about every 10/15 minutes. Great value and good fun.
Bodrum is lovely and a visit to the castle is a must but there are many many steps and it was very hot and we were there in September. There are many interesting exhibits in the castle but these are closed between 1 and 2pm.
We went to Kos for the day and this was a very good day out, The ferry leaves Bodrum at 9.30 and you arrive back at about 5.30.
We also went to Turgutreis market on a trip, it is very big, where there was the usual genuine fakes.
HERE COMES THE BUT! Having read other peoples comments re the entertainment at the hotel I thought that they were being too picky. Trust me they weren't. The first night was football on a big screen, second night a trio who were not great and the third night nothing! By the fourth night we were losing the will to live and decided to go out and apparently we missed a contortionist. On the fifth night we ventured out early evening and when we came back there were two young lads playing a guitar and violin, not very well unfortunately. It was as if they had gone around the staff and asked could anyone do anything. To add insult to injury we could hear the entertainment coming from the neighbouring hotels, Voyage Bodrum and Azka and it sounded great.
Would I recommend this hotel, yes, but if you would like to be entertained in the evening it's not for you which is a shame as good entertainment would make it perfect.

I really liked the stay at the hotel. There rooms were simple, though very clean and spacious. The food was rly good, the environment rly nice. Very friendly staff. I rly enjoyed the towel service too.

The thing that frustrated me the most however was that I booked an all-inclusive. The word on it's own says it: "ALL-INCLUSIVE". However here for some reason:
- Ice creams during the day from the icecream parlor were extra cost
- Mojito's at the bar (which my girlfriend is rly fond of) were not included and were extra cost
- Orange juice at breakfast was extra cost
- Having a tin of coke from the minibar in the room was extra (instead had to walk all the way down a million stairs to get to the bar)
- Having a coffee from the espresso machine was extra cost
- Half the menu from the beach snackbar was extra cost

So in the end, it was a very nice stay, but in my opinion they should not be allowed to cary the "All-Inclusive" titel in the jetair book.
