“Dont go the bad reviews are true”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We were 4 friends 45-54 year olds stayed here 8th October for 1 week,we were expecting 5 star accommodation and food.We looked at 6 rooms on arrival each room the shower cubicle the grouting was black with mould. We were told there were no other available rooms, despite being told the next day by guest relations there were only just over 300 people staying there .We then unpacked in the better of the 6 rooms. The food in the Panorama restaurant is awful, okay if you like salad or pasta, there is a lack of meat and fish, there is not a great deal of choice, the food is cold and there is a lack of waiter sevice it is quicker to get drinks yourself.Tables were not cleared.
The first night we went looking for a drink, the counter(it could not be called a bar) in reception only served beer, wine, coffee or soft drinks and this was not always staffed you had to call someone for sevice. My friend was seved red wine in a champagne glass. The second bar the Tuana bar found again only served beer, wine, cofee or soft drinks. The third bar the Anchor bar did have spirits and a cocktail list, the barman looked like a school boy and did not have a clue what he was doing, this was also not a bar but just looked like a cupboard that had been opened. The atmosphere was like a lounge in a retirement home. There were only 2 a la carte resaurants open instead of 4 .We did eat in the Italian resaurant once food was slightly better than main resaurant. We complained to guest relations the following morning expressed we were not happy, they were not providing a service or facilities that they were advertising, the reply was that the season was ending and the hotel was not full and we should have been informed of this.We did try to move to another hotel but the Ersan would not refund all monies so we would have to have paid extra, which was money we did not have.On return to our room that day guest relations wanted to move us to a better room, this room was the same but with a walk in shower which still had mould in it and the bed had been decorated with flowers, there was bits of rubbish between the side of the shower and the sink basin that had not been cleaned. She also said there would be entertainment and she had put spirits in the Tuana bar.The music that is played around the complex is very old fashioned ok if you like Perry Como,The Carpenters etc.Even the DJ at the beach party could not mix the music and it kept getting stuck and this was not upto date music.
Sunbeds were being packed away around us.Most of the staff were very unfriendly do not know how to smile, the reception staff being the worst, they need to go on a customer service course a smile costs nothing.
This is not a 5 star hotel it struggles to be 3 star,we researched the hotel looked at the reviews and dismissed the bad reviews thinking people are fussy but these reviews were very true. This hotel ruined our holiday we just wanted to come home, the only good point was the weather and the views from the hotel are lovely .I would not reccommed this hotel at all.

We booked this hotel through Jet2 we requested a disabled room at a wheelchair friendly hotel. After paying in full we had to wait five weeks for the hotel to confirm a disabled room was available and booked in our name. Jet2 also confirmed that the hotel was wheelchair friendly.
On arriving at the hotel at about 20.30 we were shown to our room ,it had twin beds and bunk beds totally inaccessible by wheelchair, a standard bathroom with a glass screen around the shower again totally inaccessible by wheelchair and extremely dangerous for a disabled person.
We went back to reception and asked for the room we had booked, the ill mannered receptionist replied that was the room we had booked and the hotel was fully booked so nothing could be done even though we produced written confirmation. We asked to see the manager (not available). We contacted the Jet2 rep, she spoke to the receptionist who put the phone down on her twice . Does this sound like Faulty Towers ? Eventually a junior receptionist managed to find a standard room (no bunk beds) . The Jet2 rep asked us if we could manage in this room for the night. The following morning we checked out the facilities ,Beach inaccessible (large deep water troughs to cross and or steps), Infinity pool (several steps), very steep slope to one of the bars , several steps to at least two of the restaurants, In all not suitable for anyone in a wheelchair unless you just want to use the main pool and main restaurant. We met the rep at 13.00 ,she spoke to reception and a junior manageress, they now claimed the hotel had sent an e-mail to Jet2 saying no disabled room was available some weeks before. The rep asked for them to produce this e-mail and to speak to the manager.(manager on his lunch). We waited two hours no manager no e-mail. A move to a different hotel was arranged ,as we were checking out the manager turns up (no e-mail though), he was going to try and get the people who had booked the disabled room to change rooms. A room with disabled facilities and a balcony for our room with a small window looking out onto a dusty slope and no adaptations in the room.
We left the hotel, we were not there long enough to comment on the hotel in general but if anything goes wrong for you do not expect the hotel manager or his staff to be helpful in any way !

23rd September - 7th October 2013. We read all the reviews, did our research and thought perfect. We booked through Monarch holidays and although initially after a good flight the dramas started. First of all we arrived at Bodrum airport and went outside to utter chaos to try and find our transfer shuttle to hotel. after about 20 minutes we were finally told that it was a Cosmos rep that we needed and we eventually found our coach. After about 90 minutes of driving the coach appeared to stop in the middle of nowhere and 4 of us were told to get off and another coach would pick us up. that was followed by 20 minutes of searching for our luggage. We eventually got to our hotel and were greeted by a very miserable member of staff on front of house reception who hardly spoke English. By now it was close to midnight and we hadn't had a drink or anything to eat in 5 hours. The so called bar in reception was meant to be open for tea and coffees, they sent us downstairs to what looked like a canteen but we found out later it was the main restaurant who said we couldn't have anything as it was too late. We were then taken by a buggy type shuttle to the other end of resort to our 'superior room'. now, initially we thought it was very nice and the views from balcony spectacular but the following morning in the light of day we noticed that everywhere had ground in dirt. The balcony looked like it hadn't been cleaned all season, the so called sunbed was broken and torn and the place was running alive with ants . We cleared ants and I went over everywhere with antibacterial wipes that I keep on me 'just in-case'. The holiday just went down hill from there. The food was below average, the entertainments team, although very hardworking, were very amateur and there were know professional groups or acts of any sort in the whole fortnight we were there. It was 120 steps to our room up a very steep hill (no lifts) and although we could have changed rooms the only thing good about this hotel were the views from our filthy balcony. Everywhere you walked in hotel grounds had dangerous surfaces with broken UN-even flooring and bricks crumbling away from walls. I went to see a sour faced guest relations officer and although I was very pleasant and friendly it wasn't returned. After a couple of nightmarish days we had a note put on our door asking us to go and see one of the managers so we trotted up too reception (a 15 minutes walk) explained everything too him which he noted and guess what, nothing changed!!!. We can only assume that the poor service, poor food in ALL of the restaurants (apart from the Al a Carte Mexican which was brilliant but was open air and food was Luke warm when you finally got it) was due to the fact that the the hotel closed for the season in two weeks and they were working with a skeleton staff with only a handful that could actually understand and speak broken English. We were completely out numbered by French and German guests so therefore what entertainment there was was geared up for them as there were only approximately 5 percent English when we were there and we only found that out by speaking to a lovely Thomas Cook member of staff who said there were always problems food and entertainment plus steep hills and dangerous walking conditions being the main cause of complaint in the 4 years she had been at the hotel. Oh and just one more thing, there was NO MONARCH rep in hotel at any time, just a phone number to ring in-case of emergency. How this resort was awarded 4.5 stars is beyond me. I had been a TUI Guests Relations Officer for 4 seasons and this is by far the worst so called 4.5 star hotel I have EVER stayed in. 2 stars yes, 3 stars at a push!!!!!This is the worst £1950 we have ever spent, never again Turkey, never again and shame on you Monarch

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs

I couldn't believe some if the bad reviews that we written on this site. This resort is one of the best I have ever been to and I can't wait to go back.

I travelled with my partner and my six year old and my 7 month old. As you drive upto the hotel the views are breath taking it was like an Italian lake it's so beautiful and peaceful.

We stayed in a family room in the family block and the room was immaculate. We had a large king bed and my daughter had her own room with two single beds and a travel cot was also supplied with fresh bedding and a pillow. The balcony was huge with a lovely table set outside. The balcony overlooked the aqua park and pool which my little girl was amazed by. Their was also a fridge in the room so I could store my babies food etc.

The resort itself is so pretty and the views from all the bars and a la carte restaurants are stunning. The buffet restaurant had a children's facility with serving plates so they could help themselves and they also had a microwave and baby food and formula available which was very handy.

The staff were amazing and very helpful. They love children and do like to cuddle them and kiss them but we had no problem with that. I would rather be at a resort that love children then at a resort that make you feel like you are not welcome.

The aqua park had something for everybody. Pirate ships for the little ones and big slides for the adults.my six year old was on them from 10.30am until 5.30pm. Ali the other lifeguards were amazing and spoke to us everyday and were very friendly and kind. They also dealt with a few incidents which we mainly because a few idiots didn't abide to the rules.

The bus service into Bodrum was so easy and convenient. Mini buses leave the resort every 7 minutes and take you right into the main Bodrum market. It was so easy to find the right bus as it has the resort name it he window. It was 3 lire each for the bus each way. Bargain!!

We expected Bodrum to be hectic and we expected lots of hagglers dragging us into shops but we couldn't of been more wrong. The marina was beautiful and the shops were all very modern and even selling fake goods we couldn't believe how smart the shops were. There were a lot of stray dogs but they do mind their own business and never bothered anyone.

We loved the sort so much thank you to gokcehan the client services manager we are going to return to get married and cannot wait.

I would really ignore the negative comments and book a fantastic holiday in a fantastic resort you will not regret it.

Room Tip: The family rooms are large with big balconies!

Breath taking views. Incredible accommodation and facilities. A plethora of dining possibilities. The Aquapark is fun for the kids and adults alike. However what really tops it off has to be the friendliness, helpfulness and overall greatness of the staff. From the minute we arrived, the reception and guest relation ladies, the waiters, the bar staff, the life guards, even the chap who looks after the pool area are all genuinely lovely people. Just an amazing atmosphere which my partner and my little girls felt so welcome in.

Put it this way, its so good, we're coming back to get married here!

Me and my got married here back in June 2013. If you are looking to escape the hastle of getting married here, then this is the place to go. Everything was sorted out (with thomas cook) before we left for turkey and the hotel could not do enough to help us. The food was fantastic in the all inclusive restaurant and we didnt feel the need to dine in the a la carte because the food was so good. The rooms were cleaned daily and our housekeeper was great with our son. The slides at the waterpark were great for keeping the kids amusement and the had lots on at the main pool also. This hotel is a bit out the centre of bodrum, but there is a bus that runs straight from the hotel to the centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel not just for a holiday but anyone thinking of getting married. The hotel is a bit hilly so might not suit people with mobility problems.
