We arrived in the early hours after a long trip after our flight was delayed, to a very warm welcome and the receptionist took our bags up to the room for us.
The room was very basic with worn out facilities. Hidden extra is that you must pay for air con per day if required; I personally couldn't sleep without it! We also slept on the sofa every night as the air con did not seem to reach the bedroom and it was too hot to sleep in there without it.
We did not cook throughout the holiday, we ate out in Bodrum or at the pool bar. We were impressed with the food and drink on offer at the bar and were even more impressed with the value for money. We couldn't believe how cheap Turkey was in general!
The service we received from the staff at Moonshine was brilliant and we could not fault it. The staff were so welcoming and Rashan especially made a huge effort in getting to know each party individually, their names and abit about everyone; a lovely guy!
Bodrum itself was a short walk away and was very impressive. A beautiful place with lovely views and many places to eat and drink (must make a trip to Ali Baba's on the marine front; lovely staff who remembered us and said hello every time we passed by!) The shops and markets were really nice to walk around in the evening when it was cooler. Would definitely return to Bodrum again.
Bodrum castle is also a must-see and again, very good value for money!
Overall although Moonshine was basic accommodation, we didn't pay for a five star hotel so were on the whole pleased with our stay there; the staff made it a very enjoyable holiday!
Budget for air-con!! Not too expensive but be aware!
