We were a bit dubious of this hotel after reading some of the reviews but upon arrival we were pleasently surprised. The room we were given was clean and spacious with its own balcony overlooking the pool. Air con was an additional £20 but a godsend. Bathroom was a little snug but did the job. Unfortunately our first night was restless as we were awoken at 3am by the cockeral next door. The next day we visited reception to explain the problem. The receptionist was mortified and immediately moved us to a room across the hotel and away from the noise. Again this room was basic but clean. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The owner is a little grumpy but we didn't see him much. Breakfast was traditional Turkish so don't expect bacon and eggs.

Overall the hotel fitted all of our needs. If your looking for a clean basic hotel then this fits the bill.

N.B. Try the Turkish Bath across the road, it was amazing and the family can't do enough for you.

Also Harbour cafe and Breeze Bar both fab places to eat and drink!!

I cannot stress enough - stay away from this place!!

We had been doing budget accomodation in Greece so thought this so called 3* hotel would be a treat (although the Greek hotels were pretty good even on budget). On the internet it looks great. But note how they don't show many photos of the rooms!!

They have a great pool (fantastic for kids) but there is no shallow end so keep an eye on the kids. They do have spas, turkish baths which you pay extra for. Thats about it for the good stuff. So what was wrong.....

Given that Bodrum is catered for tourists, the locals English is very poor. Our taxi driver could not even read "Delfi Hotel" from my email or understand which hotel we were saying and had no idea where he was going. The hotel staff's english again was very limited but you can get by. One of our pre-requisties is that it must have air conditioning - and yes it does but you have to pay for it!! They keep the remote control!! (Although you can maunally start it without the remote, if you know how). Mind you the air conditioner was pretty useless. It looked and sounded like it was from the 70s. It did a poor job of keeping us cool.

Upon arrival, we were told the hotel was full and could not be given our standard double room. We had however, been upgarded to the family suite - more like the family dungeon. This had 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom had 2 single beds pushed together (not really an issue) but the room was stinking hot - no air conditioner in this room. The kids room had a bunk bed and again stinking hot as no air conditioner. The lounge/kitchen area was dodgy. It had a camp bed in the corner, one one-seater couch and a tv (which had all turkish channels). Th kitchen was from the 40s and the mini fridge was so mini we couldn't even fit in our 1.5 litres water bottle unless we removed the shelves. Not a suitable fridge for a family suite!! But this room had the air conditioner. But as it was so crap, no air went to the other rooms so if you were sleeping in those rooms you would have died. So we had to resort to moving a mattress from the bedroom and placing it in the kitchen so that we could sleep with some air. The bedsheets althoug were clean seemed to look and feel dirty. The bathroom had a broken shower screen but did the job for our 3 day stay.

When we thought nothing else could go wrong - we came home at about 11pm and to our surprise there was a wedding reception going on in the pool area. Not really an issue but the band had blocked our entrance to our rooms. We had to find someone to help us get to our room. Once there, it was difficult to sleep due to the band music that continued on till after midnight. We were lucky, we were on the 1st floor but for those on the ground floor, the reception was happening right outside their window. We could not believe that there was no warning given to guests about the wedding reception so we were aware of the noise and how to get to our rooms.

Upon checking out, the staff were not aware that we had already paid a 30 pound deposit and was trying to charge us the full amount. Luckily I showed him the email chain so he charged us the right amount.

On the good side - location is superb. Only a 5 -10min walk to the main town and about a 15 min walk to the marina. we did attend a fabulous foam party at Halikarnas night club and also went on a fantastic day boat cruise from the marina.

BUT whatever you do - do not stay at Delfi. Pay double the price and stay in a decent hotel!!

“2 star? you got to be joking!!!!!!!!”

Delfi Hotel

first time i have been to delfi and will definitely be the last.......
upon arrival we was made to wait in the reception area for 7 and a half hours due to rooms not being ready.when checking in at nearly 1pm that day the bed sheets and towels were dirty and there was hair in the bed.was moved to another room immediately.was a bit better but lighting was poor and room was dirty.after 10 days in this room we came back from the pool 1 day to find the room was infested with cockroaches.in the beds, on the walls, falling out of the ceilings.an absolute disgrace. the 3rd room was the best of the 3...but still never made up for the hotel. the waiters are the most arrogant of allk the people i have ever met.would it really hurt to say hello in the mornings or smile. throwing them in the pool really made my day.they keep the music to a minimum because the speakers are near the bar and they dont wanna hear it.the agency told us air conditioning is with the room.correct it was....BUT ONLY WHEN U PAY £20 A WEEK FOR IT!!!AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!!! there are not enough sunbeds to go round. so we had to put our towels down from the night before. £9 a night is far too expensive for this hotel. thank god we only did book bed and breakfast. then again u say bed and breakfast....bread, salami, dried up cucumbers and hard eggs hardly makes u want to get up.and not even some juice for those who dont want tea.ordering a drink during the day was an absolute joke.u ask for a cold beer or bottle of water and even though it comes out of the 'freezer' its closer to warm.your better off walking to the nearest shop (50M away).
a truely horrible and disgusting hotel. i dont know how anyone there can enjoy it.
STAY WELL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Appalling attitude”

Delfi Hotel

Aug 16, 2007

We booked a holiday on the internet through on the beach holidays. We chose the delfi and looked it up on trip advisor, looked o.k. When we arrived at 3.30 in the morning the dishevelled night porter who could just about communicate with us showed our daughter and other daughter and her boyfriend to two outside sheds which could only be described as 1950's butlins rejects, these were "studios" one which still had the gas turned on and the other which was thick with mould from the shower room ceiling. He then showed us and our two boys aged 12 and 10 to a room with a double and single bed in, when we asked where the other bed was after much time he went off and produced a camp bed covered in cob webs, then got the cleaner out of bed to make the bed up for us. He assured us that we would be moved in the morning. There was no room to even walk around the beds or put the cases so unpacking was out of the question. The next morning we were told at reception that the hotel was full and it was a mistake the "english end", they could give us a family room 5 days into our holiday. They did move our daughters into the hotel but that was only because they then offered the two adjoining shacks to us !!! Not realising that we were all from the same party because we had made seperate bookings.
On the fifth day we were moved but not at 12 as they said, at 7.30pm because they were still waiting for the sheets to dry from the previous occupants !!!
The spa there was nice, we had a turkish bath which was wonderful, also a massage.
The barmen could not add up and we were frequently chased around the pool being asked for extra money for our round of drinks due to their errors.
My partner saved a big turkish lad from drowning in the pool one day whilst the staff just stood there. The pool was very deep and dangerous. When the locals asked where we were staying they laughed at us.
Would be recommend or go back to the delfi .........NO WAY !!!
