“beautiful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

A little confusing, the Castle of St Peter is more of a military fortress, not really a castle....but it is beautiful and a must see if you are in Bodrum. The views and photo ops alone are worth the price.... Plus the "castle" houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology which is very interesting! Fun for both adults and kids.
tip- wear good shoes- there are a lot of uneven stairs.

“My favourite place on Turkey's Aegean coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

This is a must for anyone visiting the area. The castle incorporates so many aspects of history from robbed stone from the Mausoleum, through the crusader period and incorporating fascinating exhibits of ancient boats and their contents rescued from beneath the sea. The setting is wonderful with gardens and overlooking the sea. It provides an oasis of calm within the frenzy of Bodrum town.
I've been visiting the castle at intervals over the last 40 years and I love it every time.
Don't miss the medieval graffiti in the English Tower or the display of glassware.

“Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Too expensive to go in and not worth paying a lot of money for. You can see enough from the outside.

“Loved the castle/museum effect!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

Please be prepared to do a few stairs, there are a fair few and some are steep! Only suitable for the physically able. Love the exhibits within the towers (usually air conditioned) personal favourite was the coin and jewellery exhibition. MANY photo opportunities along the track but I agree that the tracks markings are a bit unclear. Bring water!

“Good castle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

This castle is well worth visiting. I would recommend going early to avoid the crowds, and it is probably worth enjoying a coffee or cold drink in the small cafe in the courtyard (though it is, of course, quite expensive).
