We arrived at the hotel on Saturday and were then taken to our room. Rooms shown on the easyjet website look lovely and clean but our room was absolutely disgusting!
My girlfriend and me are generally not fussy and have never made a complaint about the standard of rooms in various hotels. Furniture and fixtures are not important to us but as paying customers I think we can expect a clean room, our room and the whole hotel was just filthy. The floor in the bathroom was covered in stains, there was hair on the floor, the sink was dirty and 100% not cleaned before our arrival, there was mould in the shower and all over the tiles. In the room there was also hair on the floor, dust and dirt everywhere like the room was not cleaned for weeks!
My girlfriend and I spoke to the staff in reception and they sent a cleaner half an hour later (they did try to make us wait until the morning - no chance) to clean our room and bathroom. It took him 15 minutes to clean and all he did was swept the floor in the bedroom, swept the floor in the bathroom, and then covered the stains with a towel for us (very kind). The receptionist also advised us that our room is one of the nicest in the whole hotel. He showed us another room that was not occupied and it was as filthy, if not more, as ours. During one night the sink fell down the floor, just like that.
Another disappointing thing about the hotel was the beach and actually the lack of it. There are few animations. For the first 4 days there were none apart from water polo and after 4 days the hotel hired a new animation guy who did a little bit of animations but they were mainly for men. There were darts, billiard and one day there was a table tennis competition. There was nothing organised for women and children.
One day we decided that we want to go on a day trip and we were told that our hotel will provide a lunch box. Our lunch box contained: one dry bread roll, one old slice of cheese and one slice of old ham. Oh and a rotten apple! Firstly I thought it was just I who was unlucky with my lunch box but no, the rest of the people from our hotel had exactly the same kind of old, rotten food in their lunch box.
When we left, our friends stayed for another week as they had bought two weeks stay in Rosso Verde (god forbid). They told us that they decided to go on another day trip and knowing how poor the lunch box was, they took some fruit from the hotel buffet the day before, so they wouldn’t have to pay for extra food during their trip (we were all inclusive so surely this is acceptable to do so). Someone from the staff noticed it and after this the hotel staff including hotel manager and cleaners were looking down at them, were very rude and unhelpful.
Mentioning the hotel manager, I think someone should send him on a communication skills training course because this man does not know how to communicate with people. We spoke to him a few times and he was so rude and sarcastic, it was unreal. Nearly every day, we noticed he was at the restaurant making sure people are not eating too much. The same situation was at the bar where he was giving signals to his staff not to serve guests if they already ordered a drink 20 minutes ago, or if they asked for more than one drink.
According to the hotel website, guests can order drinks until 11pm. On occasions when we ordered more than 1 drink each, the staff became unhappy and also a few mentioned their boss would not like it. I think paying for an all-inclusive holiday, a paying customer is entitled to as many drinks as they wish; it is an absolute disgrace. It makes me upset just writing this and re-living the many situations we encountered.
The most disappointing thing is that we originally booked a holiday to Egypt but because of the situation at the time, we decided to change our destination. We paid a lot of money for changing the country and in return we received a holiday from hell. There was no agent from Easy Jet visiting the hotel so we were just left on our own with all these issues.
