“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

This is a really lovely hotel. Not pretentious but very down to earth. Really lovely staff, friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless and is close enough to the centre to walk down to the many good restaurants in the evening. A very relaxing easy going time.

Haven't visited Patara for a couple of years, but happily with the exception of a new road into the village, nothing much has changed, it's still the laid back, unspoilt Village I love!
Stayed at Golden Lighthouse for 2 nights and it was a pleasant stay - nice pool, lovely Turkish seating area, nice shady breakfast terrace overlooking pool. Room was basic but very clean and a good size.
The "Patara Express" beach transfer was running on a 'sometimes' timetable . . . first day it ran, second day it didn't :) but hotel ran us down to beach in car so problem yok (no problem) The beach was as gorgeous as ever and the sand as hot as ever!
Spent a couple of hours one of the evenings at The Lumiere sampling their (short!) cocktail list, which was most enjoyable, they made us feel very very welcome :) :) Another evening was spent at The Lazy Frog . . . again Bayram was a excellent and welcoming host :)
Overall we really enjoyed our 2 nights in this lovely little village, and when we return would stay at The Golden Lighthouse again.

The hotel was ok - but I had to ask for top sheets for each of our beds and our rooms smelt really mussty when we first went to them.

The breakfast was great, a buffet by the side of the pool.

We were travelling with our two small children so the family room set up of two rooms was perfect .

The pool was only one depth and too deep for the girls to be able to enjoy

Having visited the Golden Pension the year before, we booked into the Golden Lighthouse Hotel, which is under the same ownership, for two weeks in September this year.

The hotel is set slightly up the hill on the edge of the village of Patara which has basic shops, a post office and plenty of places to eat good food. There is a regular shuttle bus from the village to the beach although we walked to the beach most days. This is a flat walk which takes about 40 minutes depending on how long you take exploring the historic ruins on your way through the conservation area were a lot of restoration work is taking place..

We expected the hotel to be good but It completely surpassed all our expectations. It is,quite lovely, The owners and everyone who works for them are exceptional. They are friendly, helpful and laid back whilst being very efficient. They create a lovely atmospere and this makes for very contented guests. You can believe absolutely everything it says on the web site. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Room Tip: Any room, but go round the back if you want completely quiet. There are also adjoining family rooms...

Our second year at the Lighthouse. As usual a very friendly and helpful welcome from Nadi and all the rest of the staff. This is a great hotel to come and relax at with a great breakfast and a fantastic pool to laze around. The service is always good and Rose's cakes at breakfast are always a treat. Patara beach is also fantastic and never seems crowded no matter how hot - and it gets hot! We hope to return in 2012 and if we do it will be to the Golden Lighthouse.

The rooms were just ok, but the rest was pretty good. Swimming pool, books, games, grape-vines, hammocks, good breakfast, but all fruits and cake, no meat.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. But like I said, the rooms were pretty basic, and bathrooms absolutely tiny and constantly wet.
But it had attracted a lot of families with loads of kids, pretty well behaved too. Friendly kittens helped!
