This is a cooperative which produces handbags, lunch boxes, house decor, jewelry made of recycled juice sachets and newspaper. The coop is comprised of about 100 women from depressed areas of Manila who have come together, pooled their resources and established a system of profit sharing that drastically improved their standard of living. I really love their products because this is something that you cannot find anywhere else in the world, and the products are innovative, environmentally conscious, and trendy.
They have items ranging from large shopping bags so that now you can chuck those plastic bags aside and laden these bags full of heavy groceries without the fear of the bags breaking. Their lunch boxes are well insulated and come in various sizes to fit everyone's needs. They have also recently ventured into making purses wherein they weave juice sachets into lovely weaves. Similar products were featured on Oprah, but this particular cooperative's quality is so much better that I have a hard time holding myself back from buying a dozen products at a time. Every time I buy something from them, I know that it's an amazing deal - unique designs, trendy, environmentally-conscious, and helps bring hope to these depressed areas of the Philippines.
