“Interesting Place For Good Manila History”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

I was touring the Intramuros and decided to see this place also as it is in the Intramuros. It give some good history information about Manila. Would advise you to see if you have the time in Manila.

“Put this onto your itinerary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Visiting Fort Santiago is worth it because you catch a glimpse of what Manila must have been like under Spanish rule. The dense traffic in Manila seems to fall away once inside Intramuros and the walking and horse traffic inside Fort Santiago make this a sanctuary. It's worth visiting.

“Pleasant visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

We spent on hour their on 20 February. It is a pleasant walk round. Unfortunately large areas where closed for renovation. It is situated on the river which looks less dirty than previously. You get the history of Jose Rizal, which was interesting.

Not too much else to say really. Manila is short of historical tourist features.

Manila cathedral and Intramuros are just across the road so we visited them afterwards - the old area of the city.

Interesting fort along the river. It is worth spending an hour. You also have a view of the river and of the slums on the other side.

“Historical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

It was a pleasant visit to Fort Santiago with my lovely fiancée. We took pictures of the places and knew story of Jose Rizal which I believe is the Filipinos' hero. It was disappointing at a point where some part of the fort are under renovation but overall it was a nice visit.
