“Very Moving”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

All travelers to the PIs should get familiar with the life story of Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero and the other illustrados. If you get hooked you can read his two novels which give real insights into Filipino culture. Fort Santiago is where JR met his premature end and the story of his last days is very moving as is the display of his personal artifacts. Set in the midst of Intramuros it's a must see.

“Very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We went for a calesa ride for P100, tipped the driver another P100, well worth it as he even gave a background about the sights like a real tourguide! Before going in we stopped by the novelty stores at the right before the exit and there was a yummy tapa breakfast for only P90.
Fort Santiago is clean, with a really nice gardens. The structure is as old as it can get, nice to savor hundreds of years of history.
