“Nice venue for major theater events”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

It's comfortable and classy... a little tired. A nice place to see Broadway style shows like Les Miserable and Cats.

“FAMOUS IN THE PAST...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

This place is prominent to both local and foreigner alike...It is located between the International Airport and the Rizal Park by/on the Manila Bay... The Miss Universe Beauty Pageant four decades ago was held in this building structure...At the peak of their fame in the 70s, the Bee Gees also performed on its stage...Nowadays, newer building structure were built privately in the city that special concerts or show are diverted in those venues...

“Magnifique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

This is a magnificent building. It is old yet it still captivates. The architecture is bold, strong yet welcoming. The grand staircase is awesome. Inside, it houses beautiful works of art. We watched Phantom of the Opera here. The seats were greatly placed for advantageous visibility of the performances. Very beautiful. Too bad it has a scary history with the Marcoses.

The perfect haven to watch performing arts and art exhibits. The sunset at the Manila bay is an added attraction.

“CCP Main Theater is still the Grand Dame”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

The stunning production of Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera had world-class demands, and CCP's Main Theater was up to the challenge. No other theater in the Philippines could compare - not the newer ones, or the larger ones, or more hi-tech ones. CCP's timeless elegance and inspired architectural design, with its poised box seats, and dramatic staircases... its grand entrance driveway complete with lit fountain heightens the theatergoing experience like no other venue can. Yes it is old and worn in parts (and one elevator wasn't working), but that night I watched the Phantom, CCP felt like precious vintage wine preserved from an artistic Golden Age. It was a magical night, not only because Phantom is such a great musical, but more so because it was shown here, in CCP Theater, the Grand Dame who has retained her pre-eminence in Manila's theater scene through nearly half-a-century of distinguished service.
