“Within Your Budget in Amazing Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2010

Its a best location for US Embassy in a tight budget yet not crowded compare to those near Robinson Malls. Convenient enough to walk at the Manila Bay (try to remember you are in the city so guard yourself without being obvious). You have to let the front desk know that you intend to stay in non smoking room. It made a big difference. It did on our second stay. This is also convinient for those with 2 or 4 family members, they charge a bed less than P500.
If you are goin to bring your car and stay for 2 to 3 days, they charge for the parking fee.
For a fee of less than a $30, comes with a kitchen with complete utensils.
There's a renovated room which cost $50 +++, I just discovered from their Manager. Next visit I will try to rent rooms from 3rd floor. Better that a 5 star hotel.

Just needed a stopover hotel for a flight the next day. Never been to Manila so I wasn't sure where to stay.
The staff was excellent. The beds were very hard. The A/C could barely keep up.
FREE wifi- total bonus. The room was less than $50. It was large with a kitchenette and couch. It's an older apartment type of building. The restaurant attached is gross.
We had a smoggy view of Manila Bay. The US Embassy is across the road.
Security is good.
No frills type of place. The real downer was how hard the beds were. Street noise was also a factor.

Alarm bells should have started ringing when the taxi driver did not know exactly which hotel it was.
It looked reasonable from the outside with the usual security on the entrance, once inside the reception hall was clean and shiny as would be expected.
It was a little disconcerting to be asked to pay not only the full bill in advance but also an extra day as deposit, we later found out why.
The building itself was obviously old and in need of renovation, some of the wooden parquet floor blocks were lifting out of position because they were loose. As we were shown our room by the porter he was putting them in place as he was walking round the room, a bit embarrasing for him and not a good start!
The air conditioning was noisy and not very effective as the room was a self catering room so it was quite large.
The room itself was not particularly clean, the window blinds were broken and dirty, the paintwork needed attention and the shower curtain was also dirty and torn. The cockroach in the shower/toilet room disappeared by the time I had got our camera out.
It took three phone calls and two visits from the maintenance department to have a working TV remote control delivered to us.
The pillows were extremely soft giving no suuport to the head at all so we asked for some more and then had to pay extra for them!
As to be expected the food menu (in the room) looked expensive so we did not bother with that (I dread to imagine what their food hygene was like).
The final straw was when my wife, having had her hair coloured, a (tatty used) towel got dirty, we were charged 400 pessos for a new towel, no amount of arguing would produce a manager of any sort, they were all absent and could not be contacted until after we had left the following morning (even the general manager of the hotel was not to be found). They had our deposit so we were not in a position to refuse payment, the idea that they were worried about clenliness was ironic! (we did insist on keeping the old one as we could give it to the homeless people by the front of the hotel, they were grateful).
This hotel is cheap but is still very poor value for money and nobody likes the idea of being blatantly ripped off, definately one to avoid..!
