We visited the branch on Quirino, which looked very plain and unprepossessing from the street. However, through the gate is a small albeit charming courtyard, leading to a tiny, cozy restaurant. Inside, the ambience was warm and romantic, making it a good choice for date night. The waiters were attentive and helped us with our choices. The appetizers were just ordinary, except for the pan seared foie gras which was excellent. The seafood mains were pretty good. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and went well with the blue crab sauce. The prawns were tasty, but the scallops were bland and slightly undercooked. The steak was flavorful but a little tough. The desserts that we tried were refreshing and innovative. The food presentation of the entrees and desserts were all very artistic and attractive, adding to the plus points of the meal. After the appetizers, we were served lemon sorbets to cleanse the palate, and they were served in miniature teapots with dry ice -- very cute. The price was a bit steep, though, but then one is paying for the ambience and the presentation aside from the food. This would be a great place to bring a date or to celebrate special occasions.
