“Walked in on a wedding!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Was roaming around Intramuros one afternoon and curiously walked in on someone's wedding. Nobody seemed to care, and didn't mind that we snapped a few pictures before we left. People are just really friendly here.

It's beautiful, and should be a part of your itinerary when you are in Intramuros. Don't miss it!

“church for all season”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

I drop by San Agustin during my last visit in Intramuros. If you're exploring Intramuros for a cultural tour/visit then include San Agustin church in your "MUST TO SEE LIST". Inside the church resides a museum and a courtyard that will bring you back to the old times. You can see some items that we're recovered after the world war II and some relics from the last fire ruin. I tried to check the tomb near the altar and found out that Miguel Villabos' remains is being kept inside. He's one of the famous Spanish explorer/conqueror that plays a big role in Philippine history. The big door at the main entrance of the church is one of the proof that this church stood in the area for a long long time because of it's distinct, antique and old pattern that can only be seen in materials being made during the Spanish era.

“I liked this very much”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Some travelers slam this site and indicate that the museum is a rip off. I could not disagree more. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a huge building with a lovely inner cloister that you get to walk around. The museum has some wonderful examples of wood carvings of saints that date back many centuries. There are many beautiful exhibits of various sacred objects and paintings, though the paintings are not terribly sophisticated and do not date back more than about 150 years or so (if I am recalling this correctly). Worth a visit when you are in the Intramuros area.

“Beautiful Church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Very nice church with courtyard to one side and lots of interesting artefacts & other pieces on display. In addition there is a room outlining the history of all the main cathedrals throughout the provinces of the Philippines.

When we visited there was a wedding on and thus were unable to access the ground floor part of the church however we were able to peek from the wings of the corridors alongside and also from the organist's perch upstairs. Well worth a visit to explore.
