When in Rome...Binondo is the Old Chinatown which has played such an important part in the history of Manila. Not for the faint hearted, but if wandering and just looking is your thing its well worth visiting. Plenty of food on offer with lashings of atmosphere.
Seek out a local Chinese Lumpia (Lumpiang Amoy) eatery, you wont be disappointed.( why they cant make these oversized fresh spring rolls in Australia is beyond me). The local Siopao and of course the much loved Hopia in its myriad of flavours.
If in this area also consider visiting nearby Santa Cruz and Quaipo districts, the latter has some interesting local markets outside of the "Quaipo Church" home of the Black Nazarene.
