“What an amazing experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2009

Having read various reviews on Tripadvisor, I could not decide between the Pan Pacific Hotel and the Diamond Hotel for our stay in Manila. I ended up booking both! Stayed at the Diamond Hotel first for one night, then went diving on one of the islands, and upon our return we stayed at the Pan Pacific for two nights........ there is no comparison between the two hotels! Everything about the Pan Pacific was great! I found the best rate on the hotel's website, thus booked a deluxe room directly through them. We arrived on my birthday - when the staff realised it was my birthday, they upgraded us to an executive king room at no extra charge. They even delivered a beautiful yummy chocolate cake to our room the next day! The room was luxurious with lots of added extras, extremely comfortable bed, quality linen and good amenities. The wake-up service with coffee is a great plus! The service is exceptional, everything is done with a smile. The butler service is a great concept! Breakfast was vast with a great view. Robinsons Place shopping centre nearby is a must, it has everything you might be looking for. We found the location exciting and never felt unsafe walking around. There is a great spa just around the corner from the hotel too. All in all it was an amazing experience; worth every penny!

Stayed here in Jan 2008 as part of a package. Previously stays had been at M.O in Makati.
I prefer this hotel. We loved the pool, the breakfast on the top floor, the glass lifts overlooking the city etc.
We are back in Dec 2009.
Good location next to Robinson Mall. Easy taxi ride from the airport.

Great hotel for Manila. Fitout is dating but they are updating next year. Book directly for cheaper rate. Robinsons 500 meters down road. bank on 40 minutes plus to get anywhere in a cab. Dont walk more than 5 blocks to the right at night by yourself. Havana;s a good spot for dinner 3 blocks to right. Star bucks 1-2 blocks to the right. drinks in hotel expensive (nothing new there). Mall of Asia a must. We were stuck on hotel for 24 hours during worst cyclone in 40 years and staff worked 24+ hours and were great. location slightly seedy - owned by Japanese company so a lot of japanese guest and girlie bars.eateries near by. would def stay here again. 4 star (5 star by Manila standards).
loved butler concept. simple. buy a butler bear as a curio.

Been here before so I knew what to expect. Staff all very attentive, place very clean.
The rooms perhaps looking a little dated but thats a style opinion, theres nothing worn out or threadbare.
Plenty of complimentary stuff in the bathroom, rooms large and airy, beds really confortable, everything works as it should.
Food was very good and the room service very good value for money. Breakfast was good, buffet style with a huge choice.
Not the cheapest place to stay, but it gives you a great feeling staying there.
Tip - check online booking agents and even the Pan Pacifics own website to get better rates and packages than calling up the hotel directly.

The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are fantastic for children, given the large shower and bath. Room service food was delicious and well priced. The hotel staff went above and beyond their duty to assist us and our two young children. After check out we returned to the hotel (without a current booking) due to a change in flights and hotel staff provided us with complimentary drinks, assisted us with booking new flights and then allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel whilst we went shopping. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again.

I was here for business as well as vacation with some mates from Australia. Its a great hotel and close by everything. Near Makati for my work, Robinsons mall right around the corner, Aquariam and amusement park nearby.

What I liked about it:
The location is great, right in the midlle of Malate.
You have restaurants, bars, shopping center (Robinson Place), tourist attractions within walking distance.
Check in was smooth with very courteous staff.
The room was nice and I liked their huge buffet breakfast on the top floor. Great views of Manilla up there and a charming little patio.
I found the rate was cheap. We were able to check out late (5 pm) but had to pay an extra half-day rate.
That was not a major concern as I knew it from the time I reserved. About that they promptly answered my emails.

What I didn't like about it:
The all place looks old and aged.
We were woken up at 7:30 in the morning by a lady asking if we had some laundry...
I've never seen that before, that's useless and very annoying.
Also they charged us a small amount for printing our boarding passes (2 b&w sheets).
I found that irritating for a hotel that category.
Not that the price for this service was expensive, but it should be free!
Come on they don't rely on that to make their place profitable...

Overall a average, mixed experience, I'll try an other place next time I visit Manilla.
