I love Tripadvisor! Last time I stayed in Manila, I had my business associates choose my hotel for me, and they chose the Heritage. I have to remember to choose my own hotels, every time! There wasn't anything necessarily wrong with the Heritage, it just rubbed me the wrong way with all the creepy people staying there, the outrageous prices on everything, the gaudy decor, the surly staff, and the bizarre location.

This time, I chose the Pan Pacific solely based on Tripadvisor. The hotel is amazing. Loved my "welcome drink", loved the extra super friendly and helpful staff, loved the pool, loved working out while looking out at the ships in Manila bay... the room is quite large, the view (from the 16th floor) fantastic, and the bed firm yet comfortable.

All the skinny mirrors everywhere are a big bonus! Do I really look this great?

Would definitely recommend this hotel to any business traveler in Manila.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel recently. The pluses were the jacuzzi in the room, the service generally and the location. The minuses were the mediocre food, small and limited lobby bar, lack of free internet access and the jaded look of the rooms. Given the relatively high prices charged, there is certainly room for improvement.

Transferred to this hotel from G Hotel Manila by Waterfront just to enjoy a bit of opulance during our stay in Manila - stayed here for 7 nights. Had researched beforehand on TripAdvisor so our expectations were already quite high. From the moment that we stepped into the hotel through to check out and leaving our experience exceded expectations on all levels.
The check in was friendly and efficient and we were shown to our room by one of the Butlers. The room was large, well furnished and equiped, and had a great bathroom. The bathroom had a bath tub (with TV) and a seperate walk in shower. The shower spray was powerful with good temperature control. All the essential amenities were provided and were of good quality.
The bed was large and firm but comfortable. There was a pillow menu provided to allow you to choose your own presference of pillow. The bedding was also very comfortable and cosy.
The room was very clean and the air conditioning was good.
We used the pool area on a daily basis (open until 10 pm) and the gym less frequently - both facilities were excellent although the hot tub at the pool on occasions was too hot. My wife used the spa facilities which were also very good.
Internet was available in the room and once subscribed could be accessed wirelessly throughout the hotel.
The breakfast buffet was superb with a good selection of food and great service. We were randomly provided with vouchers when visiting food and beverage outlets in the hotel which gave 50% discount on breakfast - even better value for money.
There was an upside and a downside for this hotel in terms of the location. It was about 100 m walk to Robinsons Mall which was a nice place to shop, walk around, and on occasions have a meal or snack (Western quality standards). The only problem was the 100 m walk through all the street hawkers and pimps. To go anywhere else a taxi is recommended as the area immediately outside the hotel is a bit intimidating. Having said that the hotel external security try and keep an eye on you as you walk outside near the hotel.
Managed to get a few rounds of golf in whilst in Manila - played the Army course in Fort Bonafacio (9 holes only but you can play 2 x for 18 holes) and the Navy course also in Fort Bonifacio (18 holes and a nice course) - about £40 for green fees and caddy. Make sure you arrange for a taxi to collect you after the game.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definately go back for another stay in the future.

My daughter was staying in this hotel on a business trip and took ill
She says that the staff were so good to her brining up green tea often as she was badly dehydrated
I would like to thank all the staff for looking after her she says she was very ill and was worried about her health
