“worst service and overpricing in all”

I certainly not recommend this hotel.
The room was ok for the price but they are charging extra costs and over pricing for the rest
They charge 700 pesos plus plus for one day internet ($20) while most of other hotels offer free internet. They also charge a crazy price for the breakfast buffet (1700 pesos plus or almost $50 per person which is more than double of the real value. Most of 5 stars hotels in Manila charge less than 50% of this price for similar breakfast. This price is even higher than cities like Tokyo or Paris where hotels and cost of living is much higher. Manila is one of the city where the food is not expensive but the management of Sofitel lives on another planet.

When you check in, they ask you to sign a contract stipulating that bringing food or drinks in room is forbidden at all times and they check your bags every times you come back to hotel. They prefer charge you $5 for one beer at minibar or make sure you use their restaurant at prices out of this world knowing that this hotel is very far from other restautants or grocery stores anyway.

When I checked out, I called the reception 5 minutes before leaving my room asking the bell boy to come to pick up my 2 bags while I was checking out. After I finished my check out, I asked the concierge to call for taxi and i was still waiting my bags when the taxi arrives. I waited in taxi for air con and the driver started the meter. After 10 minutes waiting, I asked the concierge where were my bags and he said he was never noticed by reception of the pick up of my bags. He sent another bell boy and I waited another 10 minutes in taxi. No more bags again...The concierge called the bell boy who apparently stopped on his way to my room to help another guest...so incredible...The concierge sent another bell boy and i got my bags after finally another 10 minutes so total 30 minutes after my first request. I told them (reception, conciege, manager)they should at last pay the meter running since 20 minutes already and they only said Sorry Sir for the inconvenience. What a good hotel..........

The service of this hotel is the worst I ever seen since I travel and equals to no more than a 2 stars hotel and certainly not a five stars. They charge internet at $20 while 90 % of hotels including low star hotels offer it at free now..

I recommend all travellers to avoid this hotel for their over pricing of internet and restaurant, for their contract to sign at check in which is innapropriate and not respectfull of their guests and bad service.

Stayed here one night either end of a honeymoon.

This is one massive hotel and so easy to become impersonal. However by staying in a suite and accessing Club Millesime the service was impeccable. We were taken up to level 10 where we were checked in and taken to our room.

The room was a spacious living room with well appointed (but a little worn) desk with a separate large bedroom and huge ensuite.

The only criticism was that our bags took over an hour to arrive despite repeated calls to concierge and Club Millesime desk.

Another disappointment was the boat man was not working for two weeks so we couldn't hit enviro golf balls into the water at sunset - but everything else was as to be expected from a Sofitel.

The spa was average - amazing facilities but the quality of the services for the price paid was not on par.

Selection of restaurants, bars and food was simply amazing!

Room service was very good - the Bulgogi was particularly good. The eggs benedict from room service was ordinary.

The staff whilst in their hundreds were professional, efficient and courteous without being friendly but not that you'd expect anything else from a hotel this size.

Very close proximity to SM Mall of Asia for shopping. Hotel cars and drivers very good!!

All in all we were very impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a suite with a bay view - stunning sunsets!

We felt like VIP's at the entrance, greeted by courteous uniformed men, then welcomed at the lobby by a beautiful and charming lady dressed in Philippine costume. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Our room was spacious enough, quite comfortable and has a balcony facing a beautiful ocean view. We and especially my grandchildren enjoyed swimming and lounging at the beautiful pool which is clean and very relaxing. There was a shuttle bus service to and from the Mall of Asia which we found so convenient and made our tour and shopping at the mall so enjoyable. We had a very nice and memorable luxury experience overall at this hotel.

Nice hotel with excellent pool for the family. Good location to nearby shopping and entertainment. Transportation is always available. Staff is very friendly and courteous. I personally think the breakfast is way over priced even with the offered discounts at check in.

While visiting the Philippines we stayed at the Sofitel Hotel over looking Manila Bay. The view was pristine. The staff was very helpful making us feel welcome from the time we checked and during our whole stay. The room was spacious, clean and bright. They offer a buffet that was totally outstanding serving dishes from all over the world. This was an experience that set the tone for our stay. The head chief made sure he mingled with the guest making sure everyone was enjoying themselves . The pool was staffed with plenty of lifeguards and staff were available with towels and taking orders for food and refreshments of all types. Overall our stay there was well worth it and we plan to stay there again in the future when we come back.

Room Tip: All rooms we checked were outstanding.

As soon as we entered the lobby we were greeted by a hostess. Service was warm and accommodating. They made feel at home immediately. The rooms were nicely equipped. The suite was clean, spacious and very comfrotable. Room service was excellent as well as the breakfast spread. And of course, the lagoon swimming pool was amazing. My kids had a wonderful time. We're definitely coming back soon.

We usually check-in here to watch the pyro olympics. You can request the room that has the view of the pyro olympics. It's great to watch from your room.The hotel is very clean and spacious. Staff is very accomodating and courteous. Overnight accomodation comes with free buffet breakfast. Their breakfast buffet offers a wide range of international dishes. My family and I love staying in this hotel.
