“Almost lost an Ipad”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

I reported to the Hotel Duty Manager that my ipad was missing and all that he could say was "they will investigate". They could not in fact give a timeline for the investigation. My family's stay in that hotel was the worst ever. Air-conditioning was defective, carpet was awfully smelly and customer service was sub standard for a hotel. I had to check out without my ipad with me. The night after we checked out, they called and said that it was found in our previous room which is totally impossible as it was packed altogether with our other gadgets. I'm extremely unsatisfied with this hotel's security and integrity to bring the case out.

Room Tip: Definitely should be the least of consideration if you want comfort, value for money and security fo...

room is rather small and the service in the lobby wasn't that good. There are still some stain on the toilet bowl cover. Shower head is almost 50% blockage.
I would give a below average rating for this hotel.

Hotel was in a good location, staff were friendly enough but the draw backs ;-

Casino attached to Hotel seemed to have local people/gambling experts hoging up all the fruit/game machines, so that was a non starter for the evening.
Room was a good size , and clean etc so no problems, the only thing was Mini bar was empty on arrival so we had to tell reception to make sure we were not charged.
Tv signal was awful and Wifi was awful signal kept cutting out.

Must say the breakfast was nice and a lot of choices.

Overall saying all this I would go back and stay but would check out my room first.

The attending staff were good; the location is fine, especially that it is just a walking distance from a big shopping mall like the RObinsons Place of Manila. However, I was a bit disappointed with the condition of the room. ALright, the cost is relatively cheap, but, it didn't have to didn't have to feel like filthy. The carpets are musty. The hotel may be old, but it didn't have to appear stinking. While old, it can still be refreshing if well maintained. I must say, it has lost its grandeur. But I believe that can easily be redeemed. After all, the hotel has great assets, too, like a rather better maintained lobby and accessible location and the famous name. But, I think the hotel must consider refurbishing everything, including the choice of television sets, for instance.

Room Tip: i was given a standard room, maybe the other rooms have been renovated. YOu may try.

My Fiancee and I were booked into the Manila Pavilion for a few nights whilst she attended a convention also being held in Manila. The hotel is quite easy to get to, being close to Manila Bay and therefore Roxas Boulevard (one of the main roads running north - south in Manila) and is in an area which is replete with nightlife.
We arrived at the front entrance and were guided down into the underground parking, which was most useful as there is no alternative facility available locally that we could find.
Upon arriving in the foyer, we were very impressed with the wide open space and the efficiency of all of the staff, both at the front desk and the portering staff. The elevators were quick and took us to our floor, which is where the hotel started to show it's age. Whilst the lower public areas seem to have benefited from a face lift and some TLC the guest floors have been left to suffer a little, the carpets and paintwork seem a little worn.
Our room, whilst large with a over sized window, was also showing it's age, the room smelled a little musty and the tiles and fittings in the bathroom were definitely from an earlier time. The A/C however was efficient as was the water pressure for the showers.
Breakfast was a little manic, with a large number of people crammed into a relatively small space, however the staff here did their best to keep on top of everything.
The pool area is rather pleasant, being outside a good place to top up the tan, however the noise from the street below may prevent total relaxation.
We stopped off at the bar area adjacent to the foyer, and this is the only major criticism that I have for the hotel, the seating area is pleasant, but the TVs need to be upgraded to significantly larger and better quality items and the price of the drinks needs to be reviewed as one can walk a few blocks or take a short taxi ride and have a much better experience an awful lot cheaper, the venue does not justify the over double price for a simple beer.

I understand that the hotel is undergoing a refurbishment process and I had a refurbished room for 5 nights. The refurbished room I had was well appointed. Plush comfortable super king sized bed and 6 feathered pillows was the highlight for me. Colour scheme was fresh with turquoise hues on cushions and chairs. Air conditioning was working superbly. Large glass windows allowed a generous amount of natural lighting in the day time. Breakfast was buffet styled but can be improved in terms of quality. Location was ideal for me as it was a walking distance to Robinsons.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room.
