“stayed here because of our Christmas Party”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

last year our company party organizer made a terrible mistake. not looking for a good venue. So we ended up having Manila Ocean Park as our venue. not a good idea.
So lets look at the hotel rooms,
>bed is ok.
>bathroom is very neat, although the see through part is not one of its best qualities.
>they have available slippers for two
>breakfast buffet is great
>cable TV is ok
>im not sure if Wifi is free...
> the aquarium is ok, but I want windows, they make me feel safe.

Overall quite happy with this hotel. Staff very friendly, breakfast quite good, room very clean, good gym and nice spa. I stayed in an Aqua room which has a huge wall-to-wall aquarium in it *instead* of a window. It was one of the cooler rooms I've stayed in - the room itself was fine, but it was the huge aquarium that made it so unique. The aquarium ran along the entire side of the hotel, so you could see big schools of fish zipping across from one wall and disappearing through the other wall. That said, I actually found it really difficult not having any natural light whatsoever. When you wake up it feels like it is the middle of the night.
If staying for a weekend, I would really recommend the Aqua room, but for a longer stay I would take one of the regular rooms. I should also note that the hotel is actually in a mini mall complex and there are sometimes big groups of schools coming through to see an aquarium show, which may bother some people if looking for very peaceful surroundings.

Good location, close to the Airport (30 minutes ride by taxi) and to Intramuros. Very clean and well maintaned. Tasty breakfast. Interesting concept of the rooms but they are very small, with not very convenient showers and WC. Surrounding "Ocean Park" and Light and Fountains Show make noise, especially in the parkview rooms. Definitely a good hotel but due to the size of the rooms and noisy neighbourghood a little overpriced.

Room Tip: Try to choose Bayview or fantastic inner rooms with aquariums inside if you are not claustrophobic...

Nice hotel, clean rooms however the staff could be a little more warm and welcoming to their guests. Rooms are nice but a little overpriced for what is offered in terms of convience. You have a 5 - 15 minute taxi ride to MOA depending upon traffic. Small shopping area and aquarium adjacent to the hotel. Breakfast buffet is nice just be sure to get there early, the closer to the time they transition to lunch the fewer options are available however the waitstaff were friendly and accomodating.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with one of the aquarium rooms it's nice to just lay there and watch the fish...

When I booked on this hotel(one month before the scheduled date), I have choosen, Bayview room with double-sized bed with bathtub. When my hubby got home from Saudi, we went straight to this hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, we got confuse as to when are we going to park our car, (we waited for 15 mins) before we were send out to the reception area because the staffs were arguing if valet parking is free of charge or not, some staff says, valet parking is free of charge, some says its not. My hubby, feeling exhausted, agreed to pay for the parking. And then we headed to the reception area and from there we waited for another 30-45 mins. saying that our room is being checked & prepared, and in our dismay, the staff said that the room the we booked earlier was not available, that we are going to stay in a bayview room but with two single bed......my hubby really feeling pissed off & tired that time, said its okey, as long as he can sleep and relax because he don't have sleep yet. When we get into our room, we were satisfied with the ambiance but when the thought of sleeping together in a single bed comes into our mind, its really hard but we're already here. When night comes, time to sleep, we cannot find the switch of the light above our head, we kept on calling the staff, to help us find the switch because we looked all over the room and even under & beside the bed but we couldn't find it, until we fall asleep waiting for someone to help us but no one showed up. The next day, upon our check out, the staff asked us about our stay, if we enjoyed our stay, my hubby could no longer hold his disappoinment, told the staffs that he was not satisfied with their services.....blah...blah....right on their face. The staff couldn't look straight to us after hearing my hubby's sentiments about their services.
But in fairness to the hotel, the hotel was really nice and classy its just that.....their staff was not that good when it comes to services.

Extraordinary internal architecture. There are a set of rooms in this hotel where the whole of one wall of each room is part of a giant aquarium. Its unique. You can lower a blind over the wall if you don't want the fish watching you at night.. A romantic cocktail terrace overlooking Manila Bay, perfect for that evening unwinder. Plenty of restaurants and entertainment in the same complex for the family. One I watch on the last minute bookings for a bargin couple of nights.

Room Tip: there are bay view or aquarium rooms to choose from.

Lucky for me, I manage to get a promo price for the room at H2O. It would be silly to pay their tariff rates. The rooms were small with more if a boutique hotel design. There was no shelter from the taxi stand to the entrance if the hotel/Ocean park complex. The check out was horrid as they chase everyone out @ 12noon sharp.

Imagine the amount of people queuing to check out and new guest checking in at the same time.... It's chaotic. And I had to wait for an hour for the staff to process me out.

Besides the nice small little rooms, I'm not going back there for sure. I'll opt for the Traders Hotel on any given day.
