“The password is "PASSABLE"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

A no-frills budget hotel inside Malate, near Malate Catholic School. It takes about a 15-minute walk to Robinsons Mall. If you're scared of your surroundings, take a short ride to a cab which is many in that area.

Rooms have queen-sized beds, a/c, lots of old cabinets (don't know why) and cable TV (lots of channels by the way). No refrigerator or any other trimmings. The exteriors of the hotel looks elegant, but the rooms and everything else is passable, but nothing extra-ordinary. They don't even have a restaurant, only a coffee shop which looks like a canteen. One can order coffee and breakfast, not included in the room rate, but as for myself, I just bought my food outside.

For P2,000 a night, it's not a steal, but not so expensive either. That's why its so-so. OK, passable, but not something to rave about.

Room Tip: This is good for people who like to try hotels even just once. But forgettable just the same.

the hotel is not in the busy area of Malate. It's owned by an American and Filipina Married couple. Had the chance to meet and talk to them during our stay. It was a very cozy hotel. The staff was very nice. It feels like you're just at home. a very short walk going to the Malate church and the rest of the restaurants on the Roxas blvd street

Room Tip: Rooms are large compared to how you see it on pictures.

I had a pleasent stay at the Casa Nicarosa hotel in Malate, a walking distance to the bayside, although its renovated, I could enjoyed it because of my proffession being a civil engineer. Malate is as I been told the ancient place where history been made. The hotel is hidden, first dissapointed end then wow... not bad. Is worth the price. Thanks to the manager/owner Chynthia. I enjoyed her presence. And of course the staff, very nice and kind Phileppinas. Love them. I definetly will pay them a visit again. Keep on the good work.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2011 via mobile

I booked this hotel for an overnight, arrived at past midnight. If only I am not so tired to look for another hotel, i would've done it since i saw cockroaches everywhere especially in hallway and lobby. Some are dead but some are walking around the walls and floor of the hotel (yuck).
The receptionist is unprofessional and very rude. It seems like she is just in her bedroom with hair uncombed, wearing tank top and skimpy shorts.
On the other side, the rooms are nice and clean, good enough for the budget hotel i booked. The beds are small but it served its purpose. The bathroom is simple but the hot
water is a plus.
Casa Nicarosa is in red light district so it is just right around the corner from sogo hotel and victoria court, if you dont mind sleeping in those kind of motels, i think it will be better off to stay in the cheaper motels where the service is a lot better, price is cheaper and the rooms are cleaner. Casa Nicarosa is a dump masked in a beautiful facade.

Although the staff are welcoming and smiley it tends to mask a few problems. The room was adequate, everything worked but in the morning I awoke with small stones on the outside of the bed that could only have come from the pebble-dash roof. The wifi only works in the foyer and parts of the breakfast area and is NOT available in the rooms. We were charged 300 pesos to check-in prior to the 2pm deadline and also found the breakfast over-priced considering what you get and to be charged an extra 15 pesos for butter seems a little petty. This could be a decent stay if they stopped over-charging for everything outside of sleeping
