“LOVEL LITTLE HOTEL, QUIET AND PEACEFULL. INDIAN FOOD WAS BEST EVER HAD!”
Stayed one night here (2 days) and must say its a little gem.
Location is a bit far out (tood 30 mins from airport) but worth it, so quiet and set right up on a hill so view from reception was amazing.
Book a super deluxe room which has a balcony as without a balcony you feel a bit clostophobic.
Rooms (mine had no balcony so was pretty basic) was clean and had what I needed. the ones with balconies I believe are better.
Had a good fridge and air con, TV worked and bed was fine though matress was too soft for me, but I hear they are buying new ones soon anyway.
Manager seems to have taken over about 6months ago. He is local seychellouis but Indian also and my goodness - try the indian food here - it is out of this world.... Im not kidding. I had butter chicken, and partner had Afgan chicken - soooooo tasty !!!!! Restaurant is right by the pool, looks lovely at night and you can see the sea over the balcony its very romantic.
They also did great pool snacks at lunchtime, toasted sandwiches and good pizza choices etc... local creole food too so lots of choice even for fussy eaters during the day and night.
From the hotel....after a steep walk down the hill (drive if you are unstead on feet as its a killer on the way back up!) go straight across the road and the beach is really lovely, you can swim there safely and snorkel.... lots of quiet coves to chill out and clear waters. 5 mins down the road is a pizza restaurant called KAZ KREOLE which was great - nice to have a beer and lunch there.
Also a series of small shops for any essentials (gin and tonic for us!). Prices when you buy in the shops are very cheap - same for restaurant, its only expensive in the 4 an 5 star hotels. Dinner at Le Relax was very good prices, cheaper than the UK and well worth the money.
You can pay for EVERTHING in local currency now (seychelles rupees) so just get some on arrival at the airport and dont bother with euros anymore. Cheaper.
The pool was very clean, the area around pool was lovely and comfy sunloungers.
The manager looked after us very well, dont expect the seychelles staff to fall over you.... they are still getting to understand tourism and its not in their nature to be like the staff in mauritius, but they are friendly when you warm them up and I couldnt fault the staff or manager here... he chatted to us in the evening, and the evenining waitress was helping us with our indian orders, and she was a real delight, very friendly and sweet.
I would definatley recommend this hotel for couples like us who have a car and want to use it as a base to explore or for a one-two night stay which is in expensive but very comfortable and clean. Pool was lovely and food was great.... what more do you need!
I'll add some photos of the view from reception and restaurant/pool area, it was so stunning.
Id stay here again, for the food expecially. Rooms may have been basic, but was just what we needed and I liked the more remote location.
a little gem
