“Genuine Creole food in a genuine Seychellois (former) residence, ambience galore!”
When in the Seychelles I love eating genuine Creole food and there are a few places which come highly recommended and I have visited before. During my most recent visit I was invited to the Kaz Zanana by local colleagues and already on arrival it was clear that this was to be a lunch well enjoyed.
The typical Seychellois building was lovingly restored and once inside decorated with art pieces from local artists, a feast for the eyes.
We had a lunch time set menu and when the meal arrived it too was a feast for the eyes, and for the palate also. Delicious, spiced to perfection i.e. not too hot and not to bland.
From starter over main course to dessert, a perfect meal, enhanced by my Seychellois friends who explained each dish and its preparation, and helped by the chefs who were more than willing to come from the kitchen and take a bow for a job well done.
Comes highly recommended and being located in Victoria is a perfect spot for lunch away from the tourist crowds ... in any case, it still was a hidden gem until this review is published and then the cat is out of the bag for sure.
