This is the most beautiful place i've ever been to. Went with my family, consisting of adults, teenagers and young children and we all loved it so much were booking again for next year!
*First Choice* Flights were comfortable and service was very good but the food was horrible - normally I have no complaints about plane food but it looked and tasted more like something you would give to your dog. Also the toilet rolls in a couple of the toilets had run out towards the end of the flight so do take some with you and buy drinks in the airport if you can because you dont get any complimentary ones on the plane and it is very expensive. The First Choice rep Zita is the best by far we've ever had on a holiday. Shes very friendly and visits the island daily so you can easily get hold of her. She does an excellent job and is very efficient at dealing with any problems.
*Club Faru* Amazing place! The scenery is beautiful. The whole resort is immaculately clean, even the beaches and pool and everywhere is very well maintained.
ROOMS - Rooms are very basic but are comfortable, kept clean and have everything you need considering you only sleep in them. The toilet is a little smelly because of the water it is flushed with but if you shut the door it's not a problem.
FOOD - The food is lovely and the huge buffet didnt repeat itself once in the whole 2 and a half weeks we were there. Its all fresh and you can see a lot of it being cooked. Beware of the desserts because they are so nice its hard to stop eating them! Im not usually bothered about sweet things but am now desperately trying to lose the half stone I put on whilst there!
SERVICE - All the staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. You are expected to tip but in our experiences they deserved every penny considering how little their wages are and how hard they work.
OTHER STUFF - Evening entertainment most nights - Karaoke, discos and a live band but we found the most entertaining parts the DJ singing and other peoples crazy dancing!
EXCURSIONS - There are two free daily snorkeling trips which are well worth going on. I went most days and thoroughly enjoyed it but on one of my last trips the boat man took us out to a different area of sea and some people were bitten all over by swarms of tiny sea creatures. A week later, i am still covered in an itchy red rash which doesnt seem to be going anywhere so if you feel a sensation like being pricked by pins, get back on the boat fast! You can hire snorkeling equipment from the watersports hut - $5 a day or $20 for the week if you dont have your own. I wouldnt recommend the dolphin trip. Some people we know who went on it didnt even see any but we saw loads on 2 occasions on the free snorkeling trips. There is an island hopping trip which we didnt go on but everyone we spoke to said it was well worth it and if youre interested in watersports, they are all very reasonably priced and the guys who organise them are great and really helpful.
I'd recommend this to anyone, you will have a fantastic time!!! Unfortunately the island may be closing in a couple of years so go whilst you still have the chance!!
