This is the most beautiful place i've ever been to. Went with my family, consisting of adults, teenagers and young children and we all loved it so much were booking again for next year!

*First Choice* Flights were comfortable and service was very good but the food was horrible - normally I have no complaints about plane food but it looked and tasted more like something you would give to your dog. Also the toilet rolls in a couple of the toilets had run out towards the end of the flight so do take some with you and buy drinks in the airport if you can because you dont get any complimentary ones on the plane and it is very expensive. The First Choice rep Zita is the best by far we've ever had on a holiday. Shes very friendly and visits the island daily so you can easily get hold of her. She does an excellent job and is very efficient at dealing with any problems.

*Club Faru* Amazing place! The scenery is beautiful. The whole resort is immaculately clean, even the beaches and pool and everywhere is very well maintained.

ROOMS - Rooms are very basic but are comfortable, kept clean and have everything you need considering you only sleep in them. The toilet is a little smelly because of the water it is flushed with but if you shut the door it's not a problem.

FOOD - The food is lovely and the huge buffet didnt repeat itself once in the whole 2 and a half weeks we were there. Its all fresh and you can see a lot of it being cooked. Beware of the desserts because they are so nice its hard to stop eating them! Im not usually bothered about sweet things but am now desperately trying to lose the half stone I put on whilst there!

SERVICE - All the staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. You are expected to tip but in our experiences they deserved every penny considering how little their wages are and how hard they work.

OTHER STUFF - Evening entertainment most nights - Karaoke, discos and a live band but we found the most entertaining parts the DJ singing and other peoples crazy dancing!

EXCURSIONS - There are two free daily snorkeling trips which are well worth going on. I went most days and thoroughly enjoyed it but on one of my last trips the boat man took us out to a different area of sea and some people were bitten all over by swarms of tiny sea creatures. A week later, i am still covered in an itchy red rash which doesnt seem to be going anywhere so if you feel a sensation like being pricked by pins, get back on the boat fast! You can hire snorkeling equipment from the watersports hut - $5 a day or $20 for the week if you dont have your own. I wouldnt recommend the dolphin trip. Some people we know who went on it didnt even see any but we saw loads on 2 occasions on the free snorkeling trips. There is an island hopping trip which we didnt go on but everyone we spoke to said it was well worth it and if youre interested in watersports, they are all very reasonably priced and the guys who organise them are great and really helpful.

I'd recommend this to anyone, you will have a fantastic time!!! Unfortunately the island may be closing in a couple of years so go whilst you still have the chance!!

After deciding on the Maldives as a destination the hard part was deciding which island to stay on. After much research I found Club Faru through First Choice - good price and looked good. To be sure I checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor and was convinced to make the booking. I am so glad I did. I can only endorse all the good things people have said. Food is brill with a special thank you to the dessert Chef who's deserts were always outstanding his bread & butter pudding is by far the best I have ever had. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and spacious. I have read some people saying the accommodation is basic with no T.V. what do people want from an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean...? Nothing is too much trouble for the staff on this island, really friendly. Night life is limited but if you are up for some fun give the kareoke a go. Zita, First Choice's resident rep is a lovely lady who is always on hand to help and advise should you need it. We did the Dolphin trip $30 each and seen loads of dolphins in their natural habitat, what a treat. We also did the island hopping on the sea plane which I would highly recommend - it was $214 each but worth every penny. My best memory of Club Faru is just how genuinely friendly all the staff are. Bath towels and beach towels are provided daily. The east side of the island is the hotest with the other side having more of a constant gentle breeze. I would say the east side of the island has the more secluded view but the other side is just as nice I don't think you would be disappointed which ever side you stayed on.

Back from a two Week Stay at Club Faru, Really did enjoy it, firstly

Staff:
were great very friendly, always had big smiles, always said Hello and work very hard to make sure you have the best stay whilst your there, (Zita from First Choice is such a lovely Person she is the best rep i have ever met very profesional and very good at her Job)

Rooms:
are basic but spacious and cleaned every day new Hand/bath sheets and beach towles changed every day, also have standard british plugs which is great only down fall no Fridge or TV.

Food:
The food was excellent, always a different menu every day not repetative at all and if you like your sweets then your in for a big treat,Snacks are sandwiches served at the bars throughout the day.

Entertainment:
Disco, Karako, live band and a very good presentation from the diving school, well worth going to.

Shop:
Well this shop never stopped to amaze me every day something new would appear, wasnt to badly priced either, oh and you can get mars bars and bountys from there at a very reasonable Price.

Beaches:
Very clean and white sands, take your snorkling gear as the fish are amazing

Excursions:
Two free snorkling trips per day (if your lucky you may see dolphins) We did the sunset fishing and had a whale of a time (excuse the pun) highly recommended, free trip to male is different go for the experience I would recomend you have a guide to show you around we did.

Holiday In general was great two weeks felt more like a month we met some lovely people, hello to everyone we met I hope to hear from you all soon.

  • Liked — on the beach waking up to a magnificent view
  • Disliked — No Fridge I can live without the TV

Just arrived back last night after staying the best 2 weeks holiday
(even though it is the tail end of monsoon season ), had a few downpours but mainly at night so it does'nt bother you.

Hotel has no tv in rooms but very large and clean accommodation.
Room boy changes beach/pool towels everyday, Hotel staff are all really friendly nothing seemed too much trouble the food is fantastic and the pastry chef well he certainly knows how to make you pile on the pounds.

Did'nt go to the pool often as we all prefer the beach with it's soft white sands.

If you book with First Choice you are going to have the BEST HOLIDAY REP EVER (her name is Zita) she really is a GEM.

Would i recommend this resort YES DEFINTELY. My only downfall was my tipple that i drink is not in with the all inclusive

Hotel Club Faru........what a find.....this hotel is a little gem... we couldnt find any fault with this holiday at all.
the transfer was quick.. speedboat took about 10 mins...when you step off the speedboat you are met with a cold towel and a cocktail.....within 10mins or so you are settled in your room...cases open... throw on your swimwear, step out of your room, and you are on the beach....10 paces and you can feel the sea gently lapping at your feet.
Then, off to the bar....choose your tipple ( plenty of choice ) and settle at a table on the patio, where you can gaze out to sea and as you feel the gentle breeze cooling your face, you can marvel at this little piece of heaven.
After a few drinks, then head for something to eat..... you are shown to a table by a waiter, and you keep the same table and are served by the same waiter the rest of your holiday duration.
No matter what sort of food you like, there is something for everyone with plenty of choice.
Down side....if you can call it that...... this little jewel of an island is due to be demolished in 18 months time for resedential use.....
so anyone thinking of going on holiday to this happy little island ( linda & peter, what you think ) then i say book up, you will not regret it....you will certainly be glad you chose this little hideaway .......

  • Liked — basic but clean, step straight out of your room, right on the beach.
  • Disliked — no hot water from the bathroom sink
