Terrible terrible experience and suggest not to take this place. Was staying at the hotel and had checked out and then back in after 4 days after telling them I will be back at specific time and date -- only to find out when I returned that they never kept a room available for me. They suggested another hotel (a worse one) and gave an explanation that the guest had not yet checked out for me to get a room. This was a blatant lie. Never compensated me at all. The hotel is overrated and the staff are not sensitive to the guests. I recommend not to stay here.

This is Male Island, not a luxury resort island, and expectations need to be realistic. With this in mind I'd give it 3.5. It's much better than other hotels in Male that are in the same price range. I had a downstairs room that was big and clean with good TV and wireless internet - just don't expect a view. The service is ok and the breakfast buffet is good too. It's also almost opposite the airport ferry and 50 minutes from one of the island ferry terminals - in which (upstairs at the back) is the Sea House cafe / restaurant - one of the best in Male.

actually we booked surf view hotel but when saw the rooms try to change the surfview 0 star or surf view prison to this hotel with the same price!!!
we only saw the rooms and location that it was good for male standard and one night stop over. the rooms (dulux) was big, clean and looked comfort, location was very good( near jetty terminal and sea house restaurant).

Male hotel just to spend 1 night... It may have been a luxury hotel 50 years ago, now has a nice reception, but the rooms have awful view and are pretty basic...
