Well, what can i say...
This resort has given both myself and my new wife the best time of our lives so far!
We stayed in a water bungalow which was very picturesque, both inside and outside, It was cleaned to a very high standard twice a day.
The staff are incredibly friendly, polite and courteous at all times and couldn't do enough to help us when required.
The food was tremendous,in the 2 weeks that we were at the resort we didn't have 1 bad meal.
The excursions were very good and my wife has told me that the Spa was a wonderful experience.
Only downside,if you could possibly call it that, is the lack of lighting at night, its not pitch black by any means, but the paths leading to the restaurants, bungalows and toilets could do with a little more lighting.more for health and safety reasons than for cosmetics.
So to round it off, if you are looking for a truly memorable place to go and visit, for honeymoon or just for a holiday, the Full Moon Resort is the one to beat,
The negative reviews about this resort are truly hard to believe!

we went for our honeymoon 8th of september in this hotel and we had amazing time that we ll never forget.we stayed in the beach front cottage room that was perfect(enough big with an amazing bathroom!) the place is like a paradise, with all these trees, white sand and amazing sea. we kind of tried almost everything there, like eating in restaurants(actually we had half board),going to spa and water sports, using the pool, tasting coctails in the bar and having an excursion to male. To categorize our expierence there:
1) accomodation: beach front cottage is an amazing room, always clean (housekeeping were cleaning twice per day),just 25 meters from the beach.

2)dining: we tried the thai restaurant(excellent) and the casa luna(excellent also) and sand coast cafe(good).breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant was more or less fine.so if u don't have problem to spend some more money is better to go with bed and breakfast.prices are a little bit expensive but i think it's worht it.(we paid 150usd in thai and 230usd in casa luna but with bottle of wine both times for both of us).

3)spa: was perfect and u should try at least for one time, not very expensive, around 115usd for 90 min per person.

4)service: was more or less good, all staff was very kind, very calm and ready to help ubut i think something missing there to be perfect.

5)bar is making very nice coctails in very good prices(9 to 15 usd) and u can catch also the happy hour 5 to 7 when is more cheaper. water is expensive 3.8usd 1l,

6)water sports. you have a lot of choices in very good prices but we didn't enjoy enough cause it was ti "safe" for us!

7)beach:with one word: amazing!!!! sun, white sand, comfortable sunbeds, coctails, snorkelling, swimming together with reef sharks(don't be afraid they are more afraid than you) strange fish,an unbelievable expierence!!!!

8)excursion to male: not very good expiriance due to ramadan!we couldn't eat drink or smoke on the street till the sunset! gift shops and souvenirs extremely overpriced!for one small coral they were asking for 280usd!!!! so it is better to buy some small souvenirs from the gift shop back to the resort

Overall, full moon is a very good hotel, maybe not like one that u could expect in an european country, or let'say different.but the best for maldives, the nature is amazing, the beach is unbelievable, food in restaurants mostky, excellent, service is quite good and prices are ok,sometimes more expensive sometimes cheaper. The only think i didn't like at all was the 10% charge for anything u buy.they could have alredy include it.

We had the best time ever in full moon and we would like to go there again and again... My advise? go there, relax and enjoy this amazing island, this amazing nature.don't try to find what is wrong and what could be better, just relax and enjoy!!! i hope i was helpfull

The Full Moon resort was excellent , unfortunately we only had a short stay on a B&B basis but we had enough time to sample the 3 excellent restaurants on offer.
The staff were very friendly and very professional always smiling.
Will return to this resort next year but with USD not local currency.
Highly reccomended.

“Nice relaxing trip to Full Moon Resort Maldives”

Went to Full Moon Resort on 4th September to 8th September.
Was feeling apprehensive at first after reading many of the bad reviews on this resort.

However, am glad that I went ahead to stay at Full Moon Resort.
I stayed in the water bungalow and it is really very relaxing staying in the water bungalow with a full view of the Indian Ocean right in front of the bed and the bathtub!

The staff are actually quite friendly and obliging. They would make small talks and greet you everytime they see us.
I would like to compliment 1 of the staff, Aneesh (not sure of the spelling, but he is one of the supervisors/waiters at the Full Moon Restaurant). Aneesh went all the way out to make sure my breastmilk (I expressed out my breastmilk and brought it back home for my bb to drink) is kept cold in the Full Moon Restaurant kitchen's fridge as the mini bar and the wine chiller in the water bungalow is not cold enough to store the breastmilk.

Aneesh: Thanks a lot for your help.

Food wise, I would say it is average. It is quite pricey to have dinners at the island. Would recommend Atoll Grill. Love the seafood and steak! Would not recommend Bann Thai though it is highly recommended by others. They charged exorbitantly for simple food!

Didn't have the chance to do full day island hopping as the trip was cancelled due to insufficient particpants. Would recommend the sunset fishing! We caught 4 fish (out of which, 3 were caught by the guide. He made sure everyone has at least 1 fish to bring back to the resort for dinner!). And the fishes were cooked and served to us for dinner the next day with compliments with the resort. So, we actually have free dinner (unless you order extras).
We even saw dolphins while sunset fishing. 1 thing to note though is to remember to bring a jacket as it is very windy and cold when the sun set. (FYI, sunset fishing is from 4.30pm to 7.30pm and it will get very windy after the sun sets).

Would also recommend joining snorkelling trip with the Water Sports Centre instead of joining the hotel's. The staff at the sports centre are more professional and experienced. Can try snorkelling at Fish Point or Fish Aquarium. These places are so busy with fishes!

We joined the Reef snorkelling organized by the hotel but it turned out to be terrible trip! The waves were big and all of the guests were not able to snorkell. In fact, all of the guests were holding on to their dear lives and trying hard to make their way back to the boat. With only 2 guides to 14guests, many of us had to wait 15-20mins for the guides to swim over to help us make our way back to the boat (waves were too big and strong and we had difficulty swimming back to the boat). It could have been disastrous!
However, the sports centre takes a max of 6 guests to the snorkelling pt and the guide will make sure the boat is anchored at an area with gentle waves. Hence, snorkelling is better and safer when such measures are taken.

Overall, our stay at the resort are nice!

Would hope to go back to Maldives again and hopefully, try out another resort.

“FULL MOON RESORT - THE PERFECT HONYMOON”

I have just had the most amazing trip to the Full Moon Resort in the Maldives. I travelled there on August the 9th for my honeymoon a present from my sister and it was a piece of paradise. We stayed in a water bungalow and it was the most magical place ever and every penny well spent. The magic of having the ocean right outside your bedroom door is a sight everyone needs to see at least once in their life and the bath overlooking the sea is the most amazing experience. We were booked full board, which I recommend to anyone who is planning to go here. The food is 5 stars and above and I especially recommend the pastries. As you are on a island there are restaurants that are available, but from the prices on the menu it could work out to be very expensive if you are not full board.

The staff on the resort could not do more for you, they are all very friendly and are always willing to help…..especially when my husband was missing playing cricket and the catering staff asked him to join them playing cricket in there living area……what more can I say!!!

I recommend that if you are going to the Full Moon, then you should do some of the island excursions as it gives you the opportunity to see other islands. The dolphin curse, the full day island hoping and the trip to male are ones I highly recommend. A small tip if you plan to go to Male go there once and have a guide, but do most of your present shopping when you go to the full day island hopping as the things are cheaper as long as you barter with them!!!! If you don’t find anything then go the Male again cost around £12 per person, but do not take a guide. Male is so small so you will not get lost!!!!

The only thing that may disappoint you is that there is no night entertainment at the resort so it is either go to the bar/restaurant or go to your room. As much as that sounds tempting some night you really want to sit back and watch something or do something!!

The weather was wonderful even though it was suppose to be rainy season and every time I checked the weather report before leaving it was always cloudy, but I can assure you it was lovely – sunny and hot all week.

One last downfall, which had nothing to do with the Maldives or the full moon, was the flight. We went on Monarch airlines and the first disappointment was at Gatwick, where we were told that there were no seats together and as a newly married couple a 12 hour flight sitting behind your husband is not a nice experience. The staffs were very rude and informed us that Monarch believes that sitting together is sitting across an isle or behind each other!!! The other downfall with the flight is that a 12 hour flight with very basic equipments and a charge to drink or eats snakes is a little strange……. So in the long run try not to flight with them as you will be very disappointed – thankfully the actual resort made up for it all.

So overall if you are going to the Full Moon I recommend it as it is an experience of a life time.
