“Amazing Place!!”

What a wonderful place! We stayed in a water bungalow and loved the accomodation and the whole place!!!
Bit expensive, but we expected that, the only inconvenience was that there was no-where to get just a snack for lunch it was full meals everywhere so we ate loads for breakfast and then just waitied til tea time other wise the cost would have been out of control and we weren't really hungry because of the heat anyway.
We were staying at this hotel following a week travelling round Sri Lanka and changed to 5 nights instead of 7 in case we were 'bored' with not much to do but now which we had stayed for longer as the place is so relaxing and beautiful.
Would love to go back one day!!!

Stayed at this resort for 5 nights in Feb and turned out to be a complete nightmare...was with hubby,3 kids and mum in law....one by one we all fell ill with food poisoning! we mainly ate at the Cafe as the food choice for our 6,4 and 2 year old was non existent at the other restaurants!! The manager and staff refused to acknowlege that the food poisoning came from the hotel- where else as there was nowhere else to eat! my 2 year old got severly dehydrated and had be transferred to a hospital on male...for which they charged us $150! the hotel doctor although good natured was totally powerless...even Calpol cost $7!! I think the worst thing was the ATTITUDE of the staff. They didn't seem to care less that our whole family got sick- first my 4 yr old, then my husband, my 2 yr old , my 6 yr old ,then me and mum in law!
I saw the housekeeping staff washing our glasses etc in the bathroom sink! how could this be allowed? when I complained I was completely ignored and the same thing happened the next day! surely any utensils and crockery should be taken back to the kitchen to be washed?? the fact that we all got sick was one thing but a more sympathetic attitude by the staff would have gone a long way and may have salvaged the holiday a little. It was my son's 6th bday...i asked them to decorate the room a little they said this was not possible!! then i asked them for a cake (which is usually complimentary in hotels all over the world)..they sent me a tiny cake and charged $20 for it!! when we were leaving (Thankfully) I told the duty manager my terrible experience and he as good as said that he was not concerned!! so spending $1000 per night for 2 water bungalows was money down the drain. Even my little ones said' Mama this was such a silly holiday! ' My advice is to steer well clear and stick to the well known chain resorts. The Maldives is a beautiful place but 'service' like this brings it into bad reputation.

My wife and I visited full moon resort in April.

We arrived at the resort at 13.00 . we were informed that our room wasn’t ready and we should wait for an hour. We ended up waiting in the bar for 2,5 hours before they finally took us to our w/b. on the other hand ,they immediately offered us a free excursion because of the inconvenience.

Actually the staff was, for me, the best aspect of this resort. Always friendly ,professional and on-the-spot

We stayed in a water bungalow. There are not really private, your neighbours end up swimming in front of your terrace, but the advantage of just walking down your stairs and dive in, makes all the difference!!
Beware though, because some of them are semi-detached……

On to the food now, the buffet themes were for me overpriced and nothing much really. I would suggest to stay on a b/b basis and choose to eat on any of the 4 restaurants . 5 star treatment and tasty food ,around 45€ per person.

The only really negative thing I could write about full moon is that, being so close to male it is on the path of aeroplanes and boats so you don’t really get that peace-and-quiet feeling

All in all full moon is a decent resort offering excellent service and I would recommend it to couples thinking of travelling to maldives

“Wonderful break”

Full Moon Maldives

This was our first "exotic holiday" and were slightly worried by some of the reviews that had posted negative comments, but these only lowered our expectations, which were beaten!

We loved the beaches, the setting, especially the anchorage bar, even if an orange juice did cost $8, but you dont go to these places expecting to save money.

We stayed in a Deluxe room, which is the cheapest option, but was perfectly adequate, big room, massive bed, wet room (sort of), with a shower big enough for 2!

Apart from high drink prices, my only other hang up was the lunch options, we stayed B&B, so we stuffed our faces at breakfast, as you do, but as lunch comes around, there isn't too many options, and towards the end of our stay, we started sharing meals, as one on your own was too much, the fish and chips were delicious (sounds horendous that we ate that on a tropical island, but they use reef fish, which were lovely).

Dinner....they have a handful of restaurants all with there own unique setting, the Thai, set indoors, was very nice, reccomend the Chicken red curry, yum! Sand Cafe which has a great terrace overlooking the beach, offering a mix of all sorts, reccomend the pan fried red snapper. Atoll Grill, tandorri grill, very nice, here you either sit out on a similar terrace or in little greenhouses that open up, its alot nice that I just made it sound! Or Casa Luna, which offers "Fine Dining", smart dress only.....we didn't bother with this one, sounded poncy and would probably cost a bomb!

Excursions.....If you only do one trip do the dolphin sunset cruise, as it only costs $30 each and we saw loads of dolphins jumping in and out the sea and a Manta, which is a huge sort of stin ray, you've got to be quick with the camera though!

Dont bother with the glass bottom boat, pants.

Take a Snorkel and you can even catch a look at baby sharks, yes baby sharks, swimming right past 2 feet from the beach, excellent!

We tried to upgrade our room for the last night to stay in a Water Bungalow, as they do look quite cool, not to mention the bath tub overlooking the ocean, but there weren't any available :-( Worth a go though, $150 a night upgrade fee.

oh and one last thing, one review called the pool area "manky", I'm not sure what they're used to, but manky is not how I would describe the pool area, we loved it, very clean, towles provided and a water fountain you can go and pose in if you fancy it.
