“Excellent Food & Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

-This restaurant stay at the corner of the road, not easy to notice if you doesn't know this restaurant exist.

-Candle light create the romantic although you may find a difficult to see the menu.

-Most important is the food! This really is best! This is totally worth with the price.

-I have a romantic birthday celebration there. (birthday ice-cream cake - thumbs up)

-Conclusion: Environment, music, food, service, price - very good

-Must try for this restaurant

“Romantic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Love the ambience of the restaurant. Food is good, dessert is a must try. Be sure to make a book in advance, sometime the restaurant can be very busy.

“Great ambiance!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

This is a recommended restaurant for any occasion, especially you need a good ambiance. It's romantic with dim candle light, suitable for couples. Early reservation booking needed, especially during special day/festival. Their food is damn nice. Special request service is available, what you need to do is just fill in the online form or call in. Staff is really friendly and nice. I would give 4.5 stars for this restaurant. Definitely will revisit in near future. I miss the food now.

“Highly Overrated !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Nice ambiance. Bad location, next to a dumpster! Waiters are a mix of locals and foreign labourers. Local waiters were attentive and polite. However, the manager (seemed to be a foreign labourer) was rather rude & uncourteous ! I requested for a second 'welcome drink' they offered when we arrived as it tasted really delicious, the waiter said "sure' right away. However, only to my disgrace the manager came over after a few minutes to say that they do not have that drink on the menu therefore he does not know how much to charge us for it, and one customer is only entitled to 1 'free drink' ! All of this was spoken in a rather high tone of voice with no courtesy or respect to the customer. Was very let down and put off by such bad etiquette. To not offer what a customer wants is one thing, but to affirm by saying 'sure thing' at first and denying him later with a rude tone is a whole different matter. Definitely unacceptable for a so called fine dining place.

Food was only average (we had a set menu of duck confit as main + ala carte lamb medallion). Duck confit was not soft as it is meant to be. Side vegetables were overcooked. Lamb was alright, nothing to shout about. Desserts were nice.

Overall, I wouldn't go there again as the price paid could not justify the service and quality of food.

“Atmosphere with truffles...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

You may need to ask for a torch to read the menu but its worth it!
In a city where the dining experiences can lack any real atmosphere and foodie pleasure, Cafe Cafe shines through. Be absolutely sure to try the honey truffle prawns and the tagliatelle with truffle cream sauce and macadamias. Not to mention the stand out lemon tart.
Expect to pay but worth every ringat for a special occasion.
