“Not as good as before.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

We checked in via the comforts of our room. Despite not being our first visit, we were given a lengthy explanation regarding how to do this and that. The person who checked us in fumbled nervously, possibly a new staff. Over the years the hotel has lost it's crisp charm, with much maintenance and upkeep needed, especially being a business hotel. Minor details are actually determining factors that demarcate quality between hotels. As we checked in, a bathrobe strap was left hanging on the cupboard door. Extra pillow, weighing machine, personal vanity mirror are no longer there. A day later, we came back to the room and had a patchy-quality housekeeping. Tissue not replenished, towels, soap missing and there is mould visible at the rim of the sink and bottom of shower door. Light in bathroom not working, fridge cupboard door needs mending. Visible stains on sofa, carpet and sheets. Dust visible on wall. Anything other than that is fine, with friendly staff and location of the hotel being so perfect. Really hope this hotel will not slip further just because of maintenance and upkeep issues.

Dear minkay

Thank you for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the shortcomings. It is most upsetting to see that upon returning that you felt that we could have done much better to make your stay comfortable. I must admit that after six years, we are starting to look our age. Thus, we have commenced on a refurbishment of the hotel which will soon end. As for your comments on our housekeeping standards, it is definitely most unacceptable and has been raised with the necessary departments. I do hope that upon your next visit that you will see positive changes to the maintenance and quality of our guest rooms.

Thank you once again for your feedback and I hope to see you soon again.

Kind Regards

“A great experience and such a fantastic view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Traders is a great hotel and so well connected to the KLCC mall and all the shops, concert hall, exhibition centre, and restaurants. We stayed in a club room overlooking the view of the twin towers and couldn't stop looking at it! We took so many photos! The club lounge was good but could get crowded but we managed to avoid the busy times and it was all OK. The breakfast in the lounge is preferable to in the downstairs restaurant as that was extremely busy and there was not much room between tables for any privacy. The staff were kind and efficient and always ready to help.

Room was good and the bed comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. Free internet too which made a big difference. The only negative and why I have not given the hotel the 5 stars was that the swimming pool is situated within the Sky Bar meaning that you have other guests drinking and smoking around it which didn't seem great and also it was inside when you really want a nice outdoor pool to take advantage of the nice warm weather.

Room Tip: A twin towers view room is a must. You will regret it if you don't book one.

Dear Happytiler

Thank you for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor.

Our location, view and services are the reason why many return and I am very pleased to know that your stay was made most comfortable by our staff, also that you enjoyed it thoroughly. We do encourage our Traders Club floor guests to have breakfast in the Traders Club Lounge as we do understand that breakfast in Gobo Chit Chat comes highly recommended thus it can tend to get busy. I am glad to know that you took advantage of our complimentary WiFi. Did you know WiFi is also available in our hotel limousine transfers - Amazing isn't it?

Thank you once again for your feedback.

Kind Regards

“good location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

beautifully designed hotel at a beautiful location. just located in the garden behind the twin tower. you can enjoy the beauty of the twin tower from the skybar ( a beautiful bar with swiming pool 2 the top floor). food @ the restaurant was awesome. check in process was very easy and fast. since the hotel is connected with the sky bridge, it was easy for us to go to the malls even during rain.
loved the hotel and would look forward to stay again.

“Excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

At the outset let me clarify that we did not stay here and my review is based on my experience at the Sky Bar.

This hotel has the best location in KL right next to the Petronas Tower and from all room facing the tower you get excellent view. However the Sky Bar on 33 floor is something of a new experience. keep an evening free for a visit and go be there around 6pm when they close the pool and convert the entire area in a bar. Grab a drink and something to munch and enjoy the towers in slowly fading light and wait for the final moment when the entire tower is lit up. You can click some amazing photos from here. My and my wife spend over 3 hours and just did not realise the time go by. Met very interesting people, 2 sisters from Australia and a couple also from Australia, the wife was an Irish. Even if you are there in KL for a day, keep your evening free and have a great time here.

Room Tip: If you are staying here try for a room on the upper floor. A word of caution rooms on upper floor ar...

“Ideal location and perfect breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

In Kuala Lumpur, this is my favorite hotel due to many reasons, location, extremely friendly staff and prompt and efficient service, from the room Petronas twin tower magical view in night, attached KLCC park with perfect jogging track, in the heart of business center of the city, nice bedroom and comfortable beds, most economical hotel rate of this 5 start class hotel and good breakfast in the morning to serve. You may also enjoy the free battery operated eight seat gold car ride from Traders to Twin tower (about a km enjoyable trip)

If you are planning a visit to Kuala lumpur and you are still puzzle where to stay, Traders is the easiest choice and just book it with out much deliberation.

Room Tip: ensure room on level 20 and above for perfect view.
