“Good location hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014 via mobile

Chose this hotel due to its close proximity to the main bus station, Puduraya. Was given a room on Floor 5, had musty smell and furnitures looked old. Size of room was medium, not suitable if you have 3 big suitcases. Bed and pillow was comfortable. Room cleanliness was acceptable. Breakfast was inclusive and served at a small restaurant next to the lobby. Selection was mainly Asian food and variety was not much of choice. Staff services was acceptable.

We stayed here 3 nights after our arrival in Malaysia and liked it very much.
The hotel is located in the 'old' center of KL, very close to Petaling Road. Lots of shopping and eating around. The bus station is right opposite.
It is a big building and from our room we had a nice view of the skyline.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Staff nice and helpful.
We used roomservice, it was fine.
Big breakfast buffet , free wifi in room.
Cannot say anything bad about them: recommended.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the Petronas towers

Spent 3 nights then 2 times 1 night in this efficient and restful hotel. Very helpful and friendly receptionists, concierges and doorkeepers all of whom made me up my rating - staff can make a hotel, after all. Bedroom very comfortable and has everything you need. However everywhere is looking a little worn and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast was fine but dining area claustrophobic and dark, don't eat the white bread which is the usual sugary pap but go for the wholemeal breads you have to cut. Fruit juices unfortunately not fresh and are sugared (very hard to avoid sugar in Malaysia). No computers, only wifi so if you don't have your own electronic equipment you have to go to a nearby internet place (left outside hotel, first left, down street to end, on right. The travel desk, which I think is unconnected to the hotel, is only good for group tours and didn't even answer my emails. Regarding location, personally I don't like masses or shopping so Chinatown wasn't interesting for me but the location is excellent for public transport. You can get to the hotel directly from the airport by taking the express train to Sentral and from there onto the Ampang line (yellow) in Ampang direction to Plaza Rakyat. Walk towards the exit for Jalan Tun Tan Chen Lock which is quite a long walk under cover but straight. You'll come out near a lot of bus stops and in front of you you'll see the hotel
which is on several floors. However I was advised not to do this once it's dark as there are a lot of pickpockets and you could be distracted with managing the luggage .Alternatively take a red taxi which is cheaper than the more blue, look for the budget taxi sign where you buy a voucher for almost nothing as you leave the airport but don't think it's the cost of the taxi which you have to pay at the end of your trip, the voucher is to make sure you have 'ordered' the taxi. If the sign doesn't say budget, it's a blue taxi! There's a large MayBank close by the hotel. For a vegetarian you're in trouble all over Malaysia so don't expect interesting food in Chinatown - better to go to Little India. To get some western food for some protein (after several days of lack of grains/legumes), there's quite a nice, small restaurant called Nando's very near the hotel, same side in next block tucked behind excellent pavement stalls, which if you know what's vegetarian, are good. I recommend having a face mask with you, the exhaust fumes in KL are awful.

Room Tip: Higher floors are away from the very busy streets. Don't overlook railway. a/c noise is everyw...

its only the location you pay for (located at central market)...the hotel is well constructed, spacious, and clean..but the management & staff is pathetic, non supportive & extremely reluctant.

we were 4 adults and booked 2 superior rooms trough our agent and stayed there for two night(14th-15th Dec,2013) , but the hotel booked for twin sharing rooms, while much discussion, they have confessed that they do not have the availability of superior rooms so they did this non-sense to us.Even after promising us to make transfers to superior rooms next morning..hopelessly they did nothing like that.

The breakfast buffet was full of varieties for both vegetarians & non vegetarians...if the hotel staff learn some courtesy then it will become the best place to stay at..

Room Tip: Double check the rooms availability and carry your proofs alongwith you...i have had a terrible expe...

The room which we got had some pipe leakage in toilet and when the staff couldn't fix it, we were given a room which had worn-out carpets! Room amenities were also quite average.Food was average with limited option for Indian food.
Location is quite good as we could walk to China Town and Central Market. There is a shuttle service but you need to book early. Otherwise, Metro is a walk away! Overall, I think there must be better options available in KL!!

I have stayed 6 nights early May 2014 in a corner room which, despite being relatively small, was well organized, well decorated if not very modern, comfortable and well maintained. My room, on 11th floor, with large windows, was displaying a nice view over the city. The staff at the reception and concierge was very courteous and professional. All operations of check/in and out were swift. The restaurant was good, and buffet breakfast featuring a large selection of dishes for western and oriental tastes.
The location is a real plus, at 5 and 10 mn walking distance of two LRT lines, and 2 minutes from the Central long distance bus terminal. Petaling Street in Chinatown is at a stone throw, and Central Market at 500 metres.
All this for a very reasonable price.
The only problem I met is that the hotel bank (Maybank) could not accept my Visa Gold Card to guaranty the payment, as my card was said to be "not a credit card, but a debit card", wich is meaningless in France (it is the same). So I had to pay my room at check-in, and everything by cash one by one, including the laundry which was therefore delivered at the reception desk.
First time in 33 years of travel in Asia, and not understandable !

We stayed here in May first for 5 nights then another 5 nights after we travelled for a week.
We arrived at 6am and we knew check in was not till 2pm but they managed to get us in the room by midday we stayed on the top floor (14) the room was spacious clean and a good size window to see the views. Curtains were 100% blockout, Shower always hot internet excellent. Breakfast was great plenty of variety for all nationalities. Free minibus takes you into KL at 10am or 11.30am. Staff were always willing to help or give advice especially Remesh thanx.
Location is ideal especially for the evening market and loads of food, go to Tang City Food court, I loved the food from Keong Keong and next door the indian food 10 out of 10.

There was nothing we did not like about the Ancasa it is value for money and more. We will not hesitate to stay here again and again.

Room Tip: the higher floors have great views
