Owner description: This ornate Chinese temple dedicated to the Queen of Heaven, Thean Hou, protectorate of people who make their living from the sea. The temple borrows from Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian traditions. Some visitors believe the panoramic views of KL alone make the trip up the hill worthwhile.

“Bellissimo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Highly suggestive temple, rich in atmosphere, easy to reach by taxi from KL Sentral.
The temple is close to city centre but isolated from it, being on a hill.
You can enjoy the quietness and the Petronas/KL towers view from the temple's terrace..
The temple is colourfull and well maintained, definitely worth a visit.

“Try your Luck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

To reach here you can either take a cab from KL Sentral or Tun Sanbanthan monorail station. This a chinese temple on a hil top and a very quiet loaclity. Everything in this temple is made of plastic even the plants and flower but it is made very well.
Inside the temple, you can ask any questions and get an answer by trying the sticks. All you need to do is collect the sticks in your hand ask a question. drop the sticks and look for one which stands up. There will be number on the stick, you need to pull out a slip from the same number drawer below. Your answer will be in it. It just fun to do it. You can go to terrace and see the panoramic view of KL city.
Behind the temple there is a small turtle pond. The pond is very small but there are like 100s and 100s of turtles in them.

“Ornate and worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

Like many Chinese temples it's ornate and colourful. Worth a trip if you're in KL and you get a distant view back to KL and Petronas towers.

“A modern temple with a view”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

If you have nver been to a chinese temple you might think it's pretty but it only funny if you look at the fake plastic trees ( cherry trees?) and remember this was built only 20 years ago or so!

“Impressive temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Thats a very interesting temple, very picturesque, even a bit kitsch with all the artificial flowers and some of the colourful statues that almost look like plastic. It is not an old temple but it is still a nice place to visit. A friend drove us there. Its is a small hill and it gets very hot so keep it in mind as during midday when we were there was too much, so I wouldnt recommend to walk there at that time. On top there is a nice terrace with great views, then the temple. Its really impressive with its three main statues and hundreds of lanterns. In the temple you can ask any question and try the luck with the sticks, then you get a number and in the appropiate box you will have the outcome (in English). There is a small garden with lots of turttles, not sure why do they have so many in such a small place...and then at the bottom there is a small garden with the animals of the Chinese zodiac, perfect for a picture with your sign. At the bottom, in the basement there are some food stalls and shops. It is definitely a fun place to visit.
