“Great meal worth tracking down...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

We read about the Portuguese Kitchen on Tripadvisor and thought it was a good excuse to check out a shopping centre we hadn't been to before. After a fruitful shopping spree we located our destination and sat down to an excellent Devils Chicken curry - very fiery - and a grilled fish. Great service and a quality meal that was worth the effort.

“Lovely tasty food, excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

We arrived quite late at this restaurant- in fact we were the only people eating in the food court! We think the they were about to shut down for the evening but welcomed us happily, turned the music back on and were excellent hosts. We tried both the claypot chicken, and fish curry which were beautifully cooked and tasted great. The meal was really inexpensive given the quality of food.We look forward to visiting again one day. Highly recommended!

“Authentic taste”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

We found this place by accident after coming across an article in an inflight magazine. The food is prepared fresh, Portugese-Malaysian style curries are HOT but tasty. Small menu, but there seems to be a lot of fresh ingredients. Reasonable prices. Decor is simple as it's located in the 3rd floor food court, but seating is ample, and the place is kept clean.

Spoke to the owner/chef who said that all the recipes are from her aunties and mum. She goes to the local markets herself and sources the freshest ingredients and seafood, with the menu to suit what's available.

If you get an opportunity in this part of KL, don't miss it. Good service and great food.

“An average restaurant in the Sungei Wang food court”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014 via mobile

This is one of the many food stalls in Sungei Wang Plaza food court. Quite clean, tasty and inexpensive. So are most other stalls in the same food court. I cannot understand why this is ranked so high. The food court in Pavilion is much better (for the environment) and will cost $1-2 more. All stalls in the food courts are priced similarly. One positive here is that there is less crowd and hence more personalised service. The food is good. The hot curry tastes more like Sri Lankan food to me, which I liked. Again, Pavilion food court is far better.

“Nice flavour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Portuguese is located at halal section of Food Emporium. Nice simple decor. The signature chicken curry and grilled stingray is good. Well seasoned. It is
Small portion. Just like what you see the pictures which the customers taken. Lots of gravy with one piece of chicken + 3 pieces of potatoes. We had the set dinner. Might be smaller portion.
Will try a la carte next time and see the different.

We have also had French beans and morning glory on the side. Morning glory is gorgeous.

Do consider selling the asam blend paste in bottle just like nando's. If you like the sauce, buy one home. So, people from other states can taste it.

Hello there!
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit us and for trying some of our cuisine. We are truly happy that you were satisfied with your visit and thank you for your suggestion on selling the paste for some of our dishes in bottles. We've received quite a number of those requests and will be working to make that happen soon. Thanks again and we hope to be able to welcome you again sometime.
